Back in 1985, city officials in St. Louis decided that the term ‘bus stop’ sounded too negative, so they voted to rename them ‘bus starts.’ 1800 new ‘bus start’ signs were duly installed. A year-and-a-half later, when it became clear that people were confused by what a ‘bus start’ was supposed to be, the city conceded defeat and went back to using the traditional term. This, of course, meant buying even more new signs.

In the United States the reason voting takes place on a Tuesday is in 1845 it could take rural farmers up to a day of travelling by horse and cart to get to a voting station. Wednesday was typically market day and Sunday was the Biblical Sabbath so Tuesday was chosen to allow ample travel time.

The bell on early cash registers (circa 1884) is not marketing. It’s the reason why prices like $1.99 rather than $2.00 exist. The 1¢ change back to the customer forced the cashier to open the till, ringing the bell, and make change. Otherwise the sale could more easily be pocketed by the clerk.

Rollercoasters were invented to distract Americans from sin. In the 1880s, hosiery businessman LaMarcus Thompson didn’t like that Americans were going to places like saloons and brothels and created the first rollercoaster on Coney Island to persuade them to go there instead.

Here's my update on my bike accident (from 4 months ago): I have been a bit down this week- I am waiting for my next doctor's appointment to review my MRI on my left wrist. It is STILL hurting. I haven't been crafting like I was prior- up to 5 or 6 hours a day. I'm only in the studio one or two days a month now. I'm praying the results from my MRI are good- no surgery needed. 🙏🏻 I'd appreciate it if you prayed with me for healing. THANKS

That's it for me today. Be sure to stop back by the PS blog daily this week for some amazing inspiration! Be blessed ❤️ Sav
