A Special PS Blog hop(e)

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month

So many of us know or have known someone who has battled this terrible disease; some have beat it and some have not.  In honor of all of the brave women (and men) God Bless You all.  May you find the love and peace you so deserve.

The goal of this hop is to spread awareness as far and wide as possible.  Early detection is key.  It is so important for both women and men to take initiative and get them squished!  Your loved ones will also appreciate it.
Breast cancer turned my families life upside down in 1985.  My Mom was diagnosed when she was 37 and she lost her fight when she was 42 years young.  It's been nearly 22 years and I still think of her almost every day...she was an extraordinary woman.  I feel that scientists and doctors have come such a long way, but we still have so far to go to find a cure.  I am hoping that with everyone's support, we will make a difference.

We are here today to share a special set with you called HOPE.

Paper Smooches is donating 50% of each HOPE stamp set sold from our web site to The National Breast Cancer Foundation

This special stamp set will be available to purchase starting today and like all of our other stamps. it will not retire.  You will find it HERE

Please check all five design team blogs to see what they created with this timeless stamp set.

We have a PINK prize pack to give away today...

(BOOB Tubes is included for obvious reasons)  Leave a comment here for your chance to win.  You have until midnight on Sunday night to comment and I will announce the ONE winner here on Monday

We are introducing "Stamp Kits" to our store this month - woohoooo!  They are only $19.99 for one week...after that, they will become $24.99 (which is still a great deal).  We are also running an introductory internatinal shipping rate of $5.00 for the kit for this week as well.  After midnight on Sat. Oct. 8, shipping will go up to $7.00 which in many cases is lower than the actual shipping rate.

...and just when you thought it couldn't get much better...
Today is also World Card Making Day!!
Paper Crafts magazine is having a fabulous promotion and giving away this prize below to 20 lucky winners...wow!

This prize package valued at over $1,000!

  29. I used to follow Kim Hughes on another stamping company but when they went out of business I was heartbroken. I love your style and when I recognized it I tracked it down. I am so happy to have found you again! I admire what you are doing for the breast cancer cause, there have been too many fatal cases in my family, and we almost lost my sister-in-law at a very young age. There are so many illnesses we need to fight for, and breast cancer is a good one to be working toward. Thanks so much for you help.

  30. What a great set! My mom has been gone 13 years now and like you, Kim, I think of her everyday. While she didn't die from breast cancer (hers was lymphoma) my aunt suffered the life long effects of having had breast cancer at a very young age and what chemo can do do your body (and mind) long term. My aunt died just about a year ago.

Thanks for the chance to win a fun prize package and for sharing your mom in a small way with us this morning!

  47. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I can't imagine what you're feeling, but I appreciate your encouraging everyone to go for early detection! I thankfully didn't have breast cancer, but I did have a mass removed. For a bit, the doctors weren't sure what it was (I'm 27 now, they found it when I was 23).

I would LOVE to win this blog candy! The school where I teach always does dress down days for breast cancer every October. Students and teachers pay a certain amount to dress down on the Fridays (the kids wear uniforms normally). I was thinking about making cards to sell where all proceeds would go towards the cause, and I was trying to figure out if I had anything that would work for cards specifically made for those fighting breast cancer.

  108. I spent WCMD at a charity golf tournament my mother-in-law started after her first bout of breast cancer. For six years, she's been donating the proceeds to the Susan G. Komen foundation. This year she reminded all of the participants how important research is, not just for finding a cure, but for finding better treatments. Like the ones that made it possible for her to play today, just days after her most recent chemo treatment.

I'm so impressed with this set and your generosity.

  135. I have to say, it is wonderful to see such a great company be so compassionate! I LOVE the 'hope' set and think at some point, you guys should take some of the proceeds and donate! :) Or, offer a donation window on your cart page! Breast cancer has touched us all in one way or another, so everyone should want to give to find a cure! :) Thanks again, Kim....great job, again! :)
