sketches...

do you love them as much as I do?
I created this nugget . . .

. . . using a sketch from the "Got Sketch" blog.

You have seen the bee and butterfly from the new Giddy Bugs set, but I am not sure if you have seen the sweet dragonfly.  He says "hello"

Our April release is at midnight TONIGHT!  Since I am now on Pacific time, the new products will be live at 11:00 PM tonight, my time, but also still at 12:01 MT.  I hope you are as excited as we are!!

enjoy your day!

Do Giddy Bugs...

make you "giddy"?

Teri's card certainly does that to me.

Can you get over that happy face?  I came across an adorable card at Michele Boyer's blog that uses this same butterfly, but among her comments, some designers refer to her as a bee.  That's ok with me . . . I am glad to see that this little bug is so versatile!

Where do I begin?  Her color choices remind me of elementary school,, dunno why that is, but i LOVE that!  In a nut shell - this is just SO freaking CUTE - nuff said

We hope that this little butterfly has made you smile today.
Tomorrow we will introduce you to a sweet little dragonfly :)

Boob Tubes

So my son was helping me out today by adding the clear label stickers that go on the back of each stamp set . . . when a word caught his eye.  You can probably imagine what word that was.  Yup. "boob"!  He asked me if it was a typo and I assured him that it was not.  ok, so actual "boob tubes" were a little bit before my day, but it's a super fun saying, and totally fun to say, doncha think?

Sweet simplicity in pure Heather style!  Masculine and feminine all rolled into one, gotta love that!  Her ribbons are always so juicy

How cool is this???   am going to have to ask Laurie how she created that texture on the TV, I love it!  I thought that it was so clever to use that retro element for a heart!

enjoy your day friends

are you having fun

with our April blog hop?

we truly enjoy sharing our creations with you.

. . . and on occasion, I make a layout or two but card making is my passion.  I combined the clouds from the Spiffy Scooters set, the flowers from Friendly Flowers set and I topped it off with a bee from the new Giddy Bugs. stamp set.  My bees wouldn't be complete with out a Zva Creative crystal trail.

Don't forget to leave a comment on our very talented design team blogs for your change to win one of the new April stamp sets.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

more Friendly Flowers

:)

Laurie colors SO BEAUTIFULLY.  Isn't this card just so pretty?  Those darling little crystals add such a sweet touch (and so do those little cross-cross-stitches along the sentiment)

and yet another pretty creation by Heather.  Her flower POPS with juicy color (especially with that nice gray colored outline).  That scalloped grass makes me smile and her color combo is getting noted, cuz, I love it!!

April's Pep Rally week starts a little bit early since we have a DT blog hop scheduled for this Thursday, March 24th.  (stamps will be up for the takin', just sayin')

Have a GREAT day!!

The blog hop winner is...

This lucky person won the prize pack offered up on Friday:

Jaclyn Miller

My son chose Kryssi's blog and my daughter chose post number 24

Congrats!!!  Please e-mail me your address and I will mail your prize out to you.

Friendly Flowers has been selling like hotcakes.  I am guessing because they are so versatile.  They can be used for SO MANY wonderful occasions or with no sentiment at all.

Kryssi's color combo is fantastic!  Those rich colors really draws me in.  Stamping the flowers in white is just stunning!  Those blue pearls add the perfect touch to tie in the card base.

Don't you just LOVE Heidi's Black Eyed Susan card?  I am diggin' the crinkled ribbon!  Her text base just makes this card all the more divine!

Hope you have a great week!

March 17 - PS April Guest design team member

Kasia Curry

CONGRATULATIONS . . .you are our April Guest Designer!!!

Luck has nothing to do with it girl, your card makes me laugh out loud!  Did they show up to the same party wearing the same outfit?  Or did they wear the same outfit on purpose and regret their decision after wards?  Did they eat something that changed their skin to that funky pattern?  O-M-G, I love it!!!  The simplicity of your card is perfect!

I cannot believe how HARD that decision was!!  You are all sooooooooooo talented!!  We will be looking for a guest designer EVERY month.  Please feel free to submit the same project next month or create something completely new.  It is a pleasure looking at all of your fabulous projects and we look forward to seeing what you submit next month.

Our April guest designer will receive 2 NEW April stamp sets and be asked to create 2 projects with each stamp set.  Our guest will also receive April's shaped card templates and a blog banner to showcase on their blog if they choose to.  We will post our guests projects here at the PS blog on April 6, 13, 20, 27.

In the mean time, please take in this delightful card that Teri made.  How fun that she chose a very cool/trendy color combination!!  that polka dotted tape is delicious and that flame peeking out from the back is way fun!!

I am sooooooo excited for tomorrow!!!

Vegtastic cuteness

Torn and distressed paper for a dirt mound?  Awww, brilliant Heather!!!  Those juicy, solid colors really makes the images POP!  And who can resist a touch a Baker's Twine?

I am a sucker for gingham, this exact color combination and the feminine look that Laurie achieved with a little distressing, a subtle pattern and stitching.  You knocked it out of the park girl!!

it's Guest DT countdown time . . .you have one more day to show us what you've got.  We can't WAIT to see your PS projects!

Have a vegtastic day!

Good Day Monday!

I thought I'd share some flowery goodness with you all today.

LOVE how Heidi curved the sentiment stamps to conform along the hillside.  That's a wonderful perk to using clear stamps, you can curve them . . . score!!  She colored the letters with a white pen and her sweet flower makes me smile all over.

Kryssi's card is simply elegant.  That silk bow, a doily and pearls adds the perfect touch to her gorgeous card.  SO pretty!!

ALL of the guest designer entries are fabulous!  it is going to be one VERY touch decision.  You still have plenty of time to share your projects with us for a spot on our team for April.  Please see the details on the Thursday, March 3rd post seen below (deadline is this Wednesday, March 16)

enjoy your day

March shaped card templates

Have you seen them yet?

CLOUD

CART

I plan each shaped card template around each release. The cloud goes with the Spiffy Scooters and the grocery cart compliments Vegtastic

This cloud compliments the scooter set along with so many other outdoors products.  I plan on using it as a fluffy piece of popcorn one of these days.  I used DMC floss to represent a rainbow, Imaginisce punch and some Zva Creative pop dots are behind the front cloud.  Print the template onto patterned papers or use it as a cupcake topper. . .we'd love to hear clever uses for this template.

I thought it would be fun to create a shopping cart for a Mom or a friend.  It can be filled with all sorts of goodies including fun food items, a gift card or a load of hearts (included in the download) to show someone how much you love them.  I stamped some veggies, cut them out and peeked them up over the cart.  I used a popsicle stick for the sign.  White brads complete the tires.

You can see all four shaped templates HERE

When you purchase the template, keep in mind that it won't be e-mailed to you, it is available on your account page for download.

You still have plenty of time to share your projects with us for a spot on our team for April.  Please see the details on the Thursday, March 3rd post seen below (deadline is Wednesday, March 16)

Hope your weekend is relaxing  :)

The PS PATROL

Hello friends!
On the second Thursday of every month 2 projects will be posted by 2 talented designers that are found on the web.  The patrol is sent out to find super-fabulous projects using our stamps and templates!  Facebook, our Fan Flickr page and personal blogs are our favorite places to look.

Kasia Curry
where to begin?  Those fabulous flames, the fact that she used a sentiment from Vegtastic...those colors (swoon), that scalloped shaped card...my goodness, this card just ROCKS!!!

wonderful Wednesday

I am thrilled to see Teri combining stamp sets!  Pretty Phrases is a perfect set to use with Friendly Flowers.  FABULOUS design (great use of color) I just adore this sweet card!

I'd like to share how paper piecing a word is done if you don't already know

Stamp on the base paper and again onto accent paper, cut around each "loopy" letter, cut with scissors and add on top of the base stamped image.

You could also color in the loops with markers to give them extra pizazz!

We will be I-Spying today. . . please pop in tomorrow to check out some extra-special PS projects.  :)

enjoy your day friends

peas and carrots

. . . carrots and peas, they just go together :)

Laurie has this amazing way of starting with something cute and finishing  with a divine piece of art!  Ohhhh, that texture, swoooon!

Heather knows exactly when enough is the perfect amount.  Simply stated, the attention is on the sentiment and images . . . it's like BAM!!  I love that!!!

Both of these super sweet cards use the Vegtastic stamp set

Round cards are NOT easy to do but Heidi creates them with expert ease.  That could is the perfect place for her sentiment and those blingy brads adds the most fabulous touch!  Patterns and colors and design elements, Oh' My!

a final report from me today

:)

what else is new?

We added a slide show to the right side that will flip through all of your wonderful Paper Smooches projects that are added to our Flickr gallery

Along the left side, there are addresses of places where you can send cards to.  Receiving a handmade card will always make a persons day better, don't you think?

There are a couple of stamp storage ideas along the left side also.  I found some really great sorters at Office Max (under $10.00).  When I am in creative mode, I tend to reach for what's in front of me.  You have heard of the phrase "out of sight, out of mind", haven't you?  Well, we want you to USE our stamps, so please keep them in sight, ok? (grin)

There was one more product that I really wanted to offer in the store, but sadly, it didn't work out.  I was working closely with Amanda Richardson to create die cutting files for our stamps and card templates.  We found that if you have a Makes The Cut program and a Cricut that you can easily cut the card templates (without a cut file) But when it came to creating files for stamp outlines, it was a difficult task.  My goal was to offer something that was easier than the metal dies, but I decided that it wasn't the best idea after all (especially when I saw how much work would go into each set).  I may get into selling metal die cuts eventually, but not at this time any ways.

Know this . . . my mind is always working, so you never know what we will be getting into next.

One more thing . . . If you upload your Paper Smooches projects to the Splitcoast Stampers gallery, please use this key words in your description: "papersmooches".  so that we can easily find your creations.

Have a terrific day!

Hello Friend

C'mon, seriously, are you NOT smiling right now?  Teri combined the monster from Falling For You with the new Friendly Flowers stamp set.  She stamped and cut out paper elements that truly make this card pop!

We proudly mentioned yesterday that we are partnering with EAD Designs to co-brand rub-ons and stickerz.  What we didn't tell you is that 10% of all sales from the Paper Smooches/EAD Designs co-branded products will be donated to help fight Breast Cancer.  It's a cause that's close to so many of our hearts, and it's important that we find a cure together.

We have lots of plans for this little blog, so you can expect some fun additions throughout the day today.

The new PS digital stamps will be shared tomorrow, along with details of how to become our first guest designer.  woohoooo, can't wait!!!

big hugs all around

It's MARCH release day!

woohoooo . . .we are SO excited!!

Don't you just adore this soft and fabulous color combo!!  Loving the puffs of smoke, the cleanness and the flirty message (pure fun!)

Can you imagine giving this cool card to a teen or a guy?  Laurie's coloring is spectacular and that torn dirt road and all of that texture just rawks!!

We still have much more in store for our Paper Smooches fans, so hold onto your seat!

One day I was struggling to find the perfect rub-on...it was a day that a stamp simply would not do (it was a bumpy surface and a tight spot).  I felt that there was a hole in the market and just had to fill it if I could.  So, I made a call and reached out to EAD Designs to see if they were willing to work with me, and she said "yes"!  What exactly does this mean?  We are co-branding rub-ons and clear stickers of sets that I am putting together with a bunch of various fonts.  At this time, Paper Smooches stamps will NOT be made into rub-ons or clear stickers.  What you can expect is a new rub-on/clear sticker design released each month.  They will be sold at the EAD Designs web site HERE.

They offer this product in a wide range of colors that I think you will be VERY impressed with (I certainly am).  The quality is fantastic . . . I use my finger to apply the rub-on, imagine that?

They may be made into stamps in the future

Here are a couple of samples using them:

Head on over to the EAD Designs web site to see the entire set!

more nugget sized Paper Smooches perks coming along soon
enjoy your day!
