I used our NEW Green Acres stamp set.  I colored these images with multiple Copic markers, not just single colors - I am so proud of myself, LOL :)  It's super simple, but I think it packs a punch!!  I imagine that this is a guy...or can be a gal - if she has a pony tail hidden back.

a NEW...

SUPER fun sentiment set!  It's called QWICK QWIPS.  It's special because each "word" only has three letters.  It's an abbreviated - text savvy set and it includes a tag stamp that works perfectly with each word.  I think it's a dang cool concept.  All words are 3/4" wide/tall and up to 1 1/4" wide or tall.

It's Glenda's last day with us as our guest (pout).  It was a treat having her join us this month.  I enjoyed working with her SO MUCH!!  Thank you Glenda - I was proud to show off your work :)

Perfect sentiment for this darling card - it's super sweet!  I LOVE that she "chopped" up the watermelon - genius!!  Watermelon (Alfresco), Sentiment (Sugar Rush)

 

Her "Hubby and Wifey" card is soooo sparkly and PRETTY!  I love that she clinked the glasses and the bubbles lead to the sentiment.  My favorite part - the added jewels to the champagne glasses - awesome!!

Our Pep Rally continues

Today we have a sneak from our new set called PIP SQUEAKS!  It's a baby set that we think you will have a ball creating with.

Emily combined the new set with the cityscape from Metropolis.  She inked the word "we" for added pop (love that).  The stork is actually standing, but she bent his legs to make it look like he is flying - WAY COOL!!  The baby is a separate stamp so that you can hang it from the storks beak or something else.

 

Laurie created this fabulous shabby card using many of the icons from the new set.  The cute little tree is a part of her accent paper.  She stamped and colored the images beautifully.

Happy Memorial Day

My most sincere thank you to those who have served and continue to serve to protect all of their countries.

Our Pep Rally week continues - woohooo

Today I am proud to share cards using our GREEN ACRES stamp set.  Yup, it's a farm theme set and it was sooooo much fun to put together!  I can't wait until you see the whole set :)

This card is so cheery and fun!  The pig and sentiment are from the new set.  That little "squeaker" really pops off the scene that Kryssi used.  Not sure if it's a journal spot or patterned paper, but it's darling :)

 

Heidi's card is also bright and cheery!  LOVE the bold colors...and that gingham really is a perfect touch!  This couldn't be any cuter (happy sigh)

Pep Rally Day TWO

Some of you guessed that we would have a new BABY stamp set - well, you are correct!!  It's called PIP SQUEAKS and it's totally F-U-N!

I used the baby image for a New Year's card.  I "computer generated" the sentiment and created my own sash, but the baby is on the new stamp set.  I cut the hat from card stock...the teal paper is embossed.  I designed the baby to have eyes that you can color and customize.  I think he/she will be a blast to stamp!

Glenda is back with us today to share two more cards that she created as our guest.

These colors are beautiful - wow!!  I LOVE the flower that Glenda created with our Hubby and Wifey stamp set.  Chevrons are HOT, so this is one super trendy card!!

Glenda's second card showcases Alfresco...and so does Teri's card below

Glenda paper pieced her burger with patterned papers and chose colors that I think most of us think of when we think of a BBQ.  This would make a great gift card holder for a local market (the perfect place to buy BBQ goodies)

Teri's colors are almost identical to Glenda's - how fun!  I love the solid card stock - it's so clean and fun!!   Those smiley faces really brings this darling card to life!

SO GLAD you stopped by!  :)

How many of you are having a BBQ on Memorial Day?  I know we are :)  These Alfresco cards should get you pumped for some grillin'!

Here are two totally different takes using our "Smokin' Hot" sentiment:  One is shabby and the other is totally fun and cute.

Laurie's steak looks delicious - amazing coloring!!  She used a die cut grill that compliments our set perfectly.  It looks like her smoke puff is glittered..love her sentiment treatment - GREAT card all around :)

This card is so fresh and fun!!  The colors are so happy and the clean lines are perfection!!  She's another rock star colorer - WOW!!

Here's another clever card designed by Kryssi.  She hung the wedding rings from a machine stitched line and glittered them up.  Seriously, this is one super SWEET card!!

Something special to share - and a giveaway

On May 15th, we released our newest set called Happy Camper and I am here today to help promote this sweet set with two very talented ladies!  This is the seventh stamp set from our Kismet collection.

I made this card a while ago...and now that I look at it...I should have grounded the images.  Even a simple line along the back of the images would have helped...ah well...I still like it ok  :)  They were fun to color any ways.  UGH...and now that I look at it even more...the tent should have been where the fire is...in the back distance.   (smacking head, LOL)  Please tell me that I am not the only one that looks at a card later and doubts their design decisions...

How about a chocolate cake for a Birthday celebration?  SUPER cute, right???  Emily added in the He Said, She Said stamp set along with a sentiment from our Good Gab stamp set.  Ohhh, and the squirrel is found on our Hang Ups set...the cake splatters are from our Surf and Turf stamp set

What a gorgeous creation!  I instantly pictured the flowers stamped in white, I was tickled to see that Laurie had the same vision!  loveLOVElove!!

BBQ's

are coming...summer is here.  Well, it is in Arizona...it's already in the 100's (yikes) We will have our first BBQ on the Sunday before Memorial Day and on the special day as well.  May is a fabulous month - especially since both of my kids were born this month.  It's hard to believe that they will be 13 and 15 this year.  Where does the time go?

Ahhh, if only watermelon came in all of these fabulous colors...
Looks like Kryssi juiced them up with glitter - Awesome!!

 

And Heidi created this darling card with the hamburger image...it looks good enough to eat!!

Soooo, if you don't already own our Alfresco stamp set, you might want to consider it for all of those BBQ's that you can have this year.  Entertaining is so much fun - even if it's only with a friend or one other couple.  Our Debonair border stamp set has a gingham pattern that works great with the set!

We have two completely different takes with practically the same stamps...one is created in a Americana style while the other is a traditional use of our Circle of Honor stamp set.

The metal brads adds the perfect touch, don't they?  Emily has a way of adding elements to her card that makes me think WOW!!

**Card stock contest winner announcement**

Whoa - that was a TOUGH decision - ack!!  You ALL rocked the stock, but this card was an eye grabber.  Such a clever use of colored card stock - I LOVE IT!!

I am thrilled that you all made Paper Smooches a part of your National Scrapbook Day!!  Thank you for joining us :)

I had a blast cropping with friends on National Scrapbook Day!  I *LOVE* stamping (huge grin)

When making our stamps with a "solid part", our manufacturer needs to "bevel" the edge.  Not sure why this is...who am I to question their process but, I digress, this can be tricky when stamping.

The tricky part to watch for is between the eagles legs and under his tail.  You may pick up some unwanted ink in those areas.

Here are some tips on how to stamp the eagle with ease:
1. Use an ink that isn't super juicy...A pigment ink is probably best (test which ink pads work best for you)
2. Use a small paint brush or Q-tip to remove the ink
3. I have not done this, but maybe you can gently cut away the photopolymer from those areas.
4. Twist the stamp on the ink pad instead of tapping ink  

Heidi combined the eagle with the fireworks stamps for added punch!  Not sure if she masked him or fussy cut around him, but the look is awesome!!

Kryssi's card has a fabulous feminine touch.  GREAT way to use the solid pennants!!  What a super pretty card :)

A Contest

contest deadline alert - 

so sorry...I set the time for 11:59 pm, thinking that it was a minute before midnight and forgot that Inlinkz works in military time.  If you made a card for our contest, please submit your card before noon tomorrow.  I wanted to extend the deadline in case you didn't have time to submit tonight.  My fault, I am soooo sorry :)

Tomorrow is National Scrapbook Day - YAY!  To me, scrapbooking encapsulates paper crafting...so this includes card makers and stampers.  I am sure that many of you will be cropping tomorrow - I know I will.  There will be plenty of challenges on the web tomorrow...so I thought I would offer one up as well. 

Bazzill is my FAVORITE card stock - always has been.  The card stock that we carry in our store is made by Bazzill.  They recently told me about their newest card stock called Card Shoppe.  Have you seen this amazing collection?  It's a stout 100lb weight card stock that's smooth on both sides - score!  This premium card stock is fabulous!!  I had a chance to play with it and I am officially hooked!

I paper pieced the rose with 4 different card stock colors

I layered various card stock colors to create a playful backdrop

I heat embossed the foliage stamp onto all 3 card stock colors and cut them down...I then added them on top of the base embossed image.  I used clear embossing powder.

The best part...I have a paper pack to give away (thank you to Bazzill for providing this to us for one of our readers)  It's valued at over $23.00...and the one lucky winner will receive a paper pack of 2 of each color shown here.  Aren't the colors gorgeous?

In addition to this fabulous prize, I am offering up THREE PS stamp sets of the winner's choice.

Contest rules -
You have until midnight pacific time on Sunday, May 6 to create and share a card stock only card or project.  NO patterned paper (DP) (unless you create a pattern yourself with stamps).  Of course we want you to use our stamps...and if you don't have them yet, you can use our FREE digis.  You can add embellishments, but you must use (any brand) of card stock as the main focus on your card.  You can enter as many projects as you like.  This is a contest, so embrace the stock and impress us.
