I have one more peek for you.  Our September stamps release at midnight - TONIGHT! 

MIDNIGHT eastern time to be exact.

I can't hardly wait!!

I truly enjoy conceptualizing fun and unique ways to use our sets.  Here are some variations of stamps using HULLABALOO.

• The gift bow can be used as a butterfly (stamp it back to back)
• There are 2 confetti options
• There are 2 gift bow options
• There is a solid circle that fits perfectly inside the open round balloon
• The solid triangle does not fit perfectly in the open triangle...there will be a tiny thin space between the two images.  I love the look that you get, so I decided to design them this way.
• There are 2 balloon string options
• The smiley face is a separate stamp
• Use the solid rectangle to create a pattern
• The triangle stamps can be used as banners or party hats
• LOL...looking at this now, I forgot to stamp the smile onto the solid yellow circle (oopse) Please imagine a smile face there  :)

Of course there are more images on the set than is shown...but these are ways to use some of the builder icons from the set.  Keep in mind that different inks will produce different looks with solid stamps.  This set is a ton of fun to stamp with!

And here is a card using all of the geometric images from the set.  I imagine you could recreate this with different colors to work for anyone at any age.

Sneak Peek number THREE

I am excited to share a snippit of another new stamp set!!  What do you think the theme of this set is???

We were fortunate to have five Wednesday's this month - which meant one extra day to work with the very sweet Karen Baker.  She really rocks the PS!!  It was a treat "working" with her this month.

Here's another clever card created by our guest designer, Karen.  This card utilizes three sets: Graffiti for the sentiment, the pumpkin from Spookalicious as the tree tops and the branch as the trunks, and then the paisleys from Daisies and Paisleys to add texture to the tree tops.  Yup - it's absolutely FABULOUS in every way!

Hey there.
Just a quickie for today.
I am going to post and run - I've got some fun stuff to get into today

k, so here's my lame attempt to make my own washi tape, LOL
I stamped a couple of Debonair patterns onto the sticky side of masking tape, thinking for a moment that the ink would "stick" to it.  Ummmm duh me, it didn't!  So, I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the sticky area and heat embossed it.  It worked...and it looks sort of cool.  The ink color faded, but it worked.
Looks like I need to do some You-Tubin to find a real Washi Tape tutorial  I know they are out there.

Halfway Day friends!

I just woke up!  I got caught up in a dream.  My dreams are VIVID.  It's like being in a movie every night LOL, no seriously.  I got caught up in one and slept in a little (I am normally up before 6:00).  Ahhh, this coffee is helping.

Emily's fun sense of humor shines with this super cute card!  She combined the ghost and sentiment from Halloweenies with Spookalicious.  They look like girl and guy ghosts, don't they?  When I drew her, I kept the ghost form Halloweenies in mind...looks like they make a great pair!

Laurie channeled Scooby Doo when she created this cool card!  AND - it's an awesome interactive card!  Wicked fun huh?

Daisies...

and Paisleys - but we'll concentrate on the DAISY part today.

So, somehow I posted one of Laurie's cards on a Heidi post day last week - so I am trying to even it out.  I always make sure to give everyone equal press - they are ALL amazing!!

Check out this stunner!  I had a flower petal in mind to point to the center of the flower, but Emily saw it differently - ohhh how I love that!  Her flowers are gorgeous!!

It looks like Heidi inked her stamps up with white - it looks awesome!  It must have taken her forever to fussy cut all of those stamped accents, but boy does it make a difference :)  Love this fabulous card - in every way.

Hey friends!

Hope you had a very nice weekend.  Ours was quiet - which was oh' so great :)  We met up with my Dad for some pizza.  He told us about his new medication...check out this thought process :

Dad: "My prescription came today (they upped his high blood pressure medicine) and it had a bright yellow sticker on it, warning me about he sun!  Don't they know I live in Arizona?  It's telling me to stay out of the sun while taking this medicine.  Well, I will be inside, out of the sun when I TAKE the pills, so I should be alright."

Ummm, yeah, he is serious - ack!  Cute - but not!

How stinkin' cute is this gift bag?!?  LOVE the pop of Halloween colors on the bold black/white chevron treat bag!  All of her pattern choices are perfect :)

I just got an e-mail from "Pick Your Plum" that has chevron bags (in 4 different colors) for sale today at 60% off!  check it

Swoon - it's Edward and Bella!  Don't you just adore this little couple?  Kalyn's card is perfect in every way :)

Hey friends!

Yay - it's Friday!!

How about a mini-tutorial to get the weekend started?  I will be drawing - not paper crafting, but I love it just the same.  Will you be stamping this weekend?

Here are some fun ways to use our Spookalicious stamp set:

You can easily arrange the stamp on your acrylic block to create different shapes (and it will bounce back when you are done stamping).  Color the image red to use as an apple.  Emboss the spooky (Scooby Doo) eyes on black card stock!  I made the large smile with the pumpkin shape - I just removed the ink from the top portion before stamping.  Fun stuff, right?

k, so I don't see all of the glitter on my ghost below (pout) but it looks ok I guess  :)  This card is actually pretty BOOring, but it is what it is.  Just remember that you can glitter soooo many images.  I adore my Sakura glue pen.  LOL - now that I look at the direction of the googly-eyes, this little guy doesn't look too stable, ha!

I am...

feeling pretty boring this morning with nothing interesting to say (grin).  So I think I will just get to posting two crazy fabulous cards :)

For some reason, this card makes me LOL.  I think it's a total crack up!  Not sure which one of these silly pumpkins is giving the compliment and to who, but it's dang funny!  Sppokalicious is the perfect stamp set for this card (just like chocolate covered pretzels - hard and salty meets soft and sweet)

Karen Baker is back as our guest this week - yay!  She used our Graffiti stamp set to create this incredibly clever card!  The bent edges really grabs my attention - the clean and simple lines (along with the colors) is really soothing to the eye.  What a fantastic card!!

I love how both cards are monochromatic (makes my eyes smile)
...back to nursing my (much needed) coffee

Keep Calm....

seeing a lot of products with the "Keep Calm..." prefix.  Fun trend!

So it was cool to see that Emily embraced this fad :)
She used Graffiti in a clever way (love that)...boy does she really show off the set!  And those smooches are just SO darm cute!!

Laurie's color scheme really compliments Emilys.  Her bows are always so perfect!!  I adore her little scene.  What an incredibly sweet way to say "miss you"

yay - it's Monday!

Today is the first day of school here in Goodyear, Arizona.  They started school early this year which means that I am headed to the bus stop at 6:50 - ack!  We have 5 kids in 4 different schools, should be a fun year :)  (two teens in 2 different high schools, two middle schoolers and one elementary student)

These two cards definitely have brightened my morning (well them and some much needed COFFEE)

I love how Kalyn bent up the pinked edges of her paper panel.  I am sure that it's textured card stock, but it kinda looks like felt or fabric (love).  It looks like she stamped on a journal spot and popped it up!  The special touches on this darling card makes it extra great!

Funny how Laurie chose a similar color scheme.  Love the simplicity of her card - so clean and just so pretty!  The bling at the bottom adds the perfect touch.  Daisies and Paisleys set includes a couple of single flower petals so that you can create your own flower, in any ink color you like.  Laurie rocked this stamp!

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a nice week - can't hardly believe that it's August! 

I went to a concert on Wednesday.  It was Kelly Clarkson and The Fray.  KC was AH-Mazing!  The Fray, not so much.  Either I am old or he had marbles in his mouth because I am not even sure if he was singing in English.  After 2.5 songs, we left.  BUT, it was still a great night!  As I was belting out a song along with Kelly (poorly I should add), it occurred to me how wonderful it must feel to her that we love her and her music enough to come to see her in concert.  I seriously got chocked up when it made me think about YOU.  The ones who come to see my art.  I am by no means a rock star (I sincerely hope that it doesn't come off that way), but you are using my art when you create with my stamps, just like I was singing a song that was sung by Kelly.  I appreciate art in all forms...great acting, dance, poetry, etc.  It's probably pansi-ish to admit that I am moved by it...but it is what it is.  It was a humbling thought and I wanted to "thank you" from the bottom of my heart for liking me...it makes what I do so rewarding.

Enough of my babbling (grin)  How about a card and a mini-tutorial of how to look at your alphabet stamps a little differently.

Be Our Guest

Our September designer search begins today.

Guest Designers will receive 2 NEW stamp sets and will have their name and projects featured here on the PS blog for 4-5 weeks (depending on how many weeks there are in the month).

You will have approx. two weeks to show us your talent!  You can submit as many projects as you like and past submissions are welcome.  Guest designers are not chosen randomly.  We will be looking for designers who stand out in one (or more) of the following categories:

• great use of color
• outstanding design
• mad coloring skills
• fun paper piecing
• pure cleverness

You will need to use a Paper Smooches stamp or any of our FREE digi stamps.  You can submit to our call with "old and new" projects...and projects that you create for our SPARKS Challenge are perfectly acceptable..
 
The deadline is Wednesday, August 15th.  Our August guest designer will be announced on Thursday, August 16th
If you have tried out in the past..I hope you reapply - We LOVE looking at your beautiful creations.

She used Daisies & Paisleys in a way that made me say WOW - out loud!!  It looks like fabric!!  I love the texture she added - a seriously fabulous card!!

And Teri created this amazing Daisies & Paisleys card too - check it!

It's hard to believe that these images came from the same set that Karen used.  But it's a perfect opportunity to show you have incredibly versatile the set is.  <3 so much!!

 

We also added some Zva Creative pearls and gems to our store.  I think they coordinate with our stamps soooo well.  We offer a sampling of products that I feel work amazingly well with our Daisies & Paisleys stamp set.  What do you think?
