I have something fun to share today :)

I am not one to make New Year's resolutions, but I have decided to go into my craft space more.  I honestly miss it!  So, I thought I'd share a photo of what my work area looks like...

I am curious about what your GO-TO tools are?  I haven't purchased anything new in a while, so I am sure there are tools and must-haves that I don't l know about.  (trimmer, scissors, adhesive etc) Care to share?  If you comment here...you will be entered to win a prize...giveaway details are below...

I absolutely love my Desk Maid organizer.  I keep all four units by my side when I sit down to paper craft.  Although I love the clean white design, I added some patterned papers to the front of some of the units to add a bit of color.

I use the Tool Tower to hold my favorite marker colors.  I use the Stadium Arranger for my essentials - glue, inks, acrylic blocks.  I keep various paint brushes, scissors, pencils, tools and colored pencils.  The Pen & Ink Palace is perfect for my die tools since I keep it next to my die cutting machine.  I also store the dies that I am currently using, along with some watercolor blocks, washi tape and accessories.  I love the drawers and it's so easy to change out the contents when I like.

Thank you Totally-Tiffany for creating such an amazing system!

so, to those giveaway details...
leave a comment before midnight on Jan. 15th and you could be chosen to win this...

Winner will be announced here, on Monday, Jan 16th.
I am really looking forward to hearing about what you keep by your side when you paper craft.
Love ya!
Kim

  1. You have a lovely set up Kim!
My craft desk is a computer desk with 3 drawers and 2 rows of shelves attached to the front, and a pull through for the keyboard. I have all my inks in the first 2 drawers, and sequins, jewels in the last one.
All the dies sit in a box, right in front of the shelf, the keyboard area holds the acrylic block, stamping tool, and black inl. All the markers sit on my desk in holders.
The trimmer and card stocks sit on my right on the window sill. Everything I need is within my arm length reach.
Oh, and the latest addition to my craft supplies is my new ScanNcut.

  2. I like how the Copic markers are organized. Other organizers also look great. Thanks for sharing your tips.

  3. What a cool organizer! One of my must have tools to use is the MISTI.. it would tuck into your space nicely.

  4. Your desk is so neat, Kim! My craft area is a repurposed kitchen table and a repurposed bookshelf in the basement, so many of my tools are within arm's reach. My heat tool (for heat embossing sentiments) and my Big Shot (and dies) are my most used tools.

  5. Kim, your desk looks amazing! Right now, mine? Not so much! LOL
My essential tools that are ALWAYS on or in my desk, (I have a LARGE principle's desk from a school that closed and it is AWESOME!) are my paper trimmer,, markers, scissors, adhesives, ribbon, fav. inks, MISTI and THEN SOME! LOL As I previously stated, it is a very large desk but on the most part it is pretty clean and organized as I couldn't work if it wasn't! (A little O.C.D. I am told! HA)
Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. I wish I could keep my area like yours! lol I keep quite a lot: inks (black, brown, white & clear); markers; embossing powders (clear & white); Tombow Mono Liquid glue; paper trimmer; scissors & double sided tape. There's more, but these are the every day essentials. Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. Kim, your desk is so neat + tidy! I always have my Mini MISTI, my stackable cube with my Zig Clean Color Markers, a ceramic berry basket with my foam adhesives and my E-Z Runners (adhesives!).

  8. I have a small station where I keep my craft supplies. It has a desktop and then above it is a shelf and some rods to hold wrapping paper/ribbon and below are baskets that hold most of my supplies. My essentials are my Fiscars paper trimmer, Martha Stewart scoring board, Tombow adhesive runner, Bigshot, and Misti. I use those for pretty much any card I make. Also I have a crate with hanging files that divide my cardstock up by colors. I would love to hear ideas for storing stamps/dies because right now mine are just sitting (neatly) in a box. Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  9. I love your clean and tidy space! So bright and cheerful. :) My must-haves are my sharp paper snips scissors, big shot machine, and tombow mono multi glue, which is my favorite adhesive... and I see it on your desk too! Since I watercolor all of my images, my mini mister with water is always nearby.

  10. Love your organized space. Mine is always a mess. Or as I say an organized mess. My go-to tools are Bigshot and Misti.

  11. My favorite new tool is the Fiskars Reinforced 12" Personal Trimmer because it has a metal bar that the blade is on to keep my cuts straight.

  12. Love how your work area looks like now! I live in a little flat so I haven't a crafty room. I store all my tools in two big boxes and often I forget what I really have! So, my crafty goal for this year is trying to use all my stuff and buying less... Mmm.... I think it will be really hard! : D

  13. I love how organized you are! I NEED help like that! LOL

  14. Very nice space to work in! Organization is the key to this hobby since it is easy to have sooooo many things to work with. I have an L shaped desk and have a tool caddy to the left of my work space to keep scissors, tape runners, etc. Under the tool caddy is a carpet sample. It sticks out to the front edge of the desk. That way when I put tools down, they don't roll off to the floor or scratch my desk. I can also keep a pin stuck in it and have often wiped a gluey finger on the carpeting. I stuck an adhesive magnet to the side of the tool caddy to hold dies while working on projects. Easy for a small die to get lost! This is a great idea. I loved reading all the other tips people had.

  15. Wow this looks awesome. Now I feel like I have a total mess on my desk :D
My go to tools are paper trimmer and mini misti. I also can not imagine life without big shot any more haha :D
I also store my zigs and alcohol markers on my desk so I see them and actually use them :)

  16. Your desk looks so lovely and tidy. I wish my space looked like that! I'm hoping to do some tidying up in my room this weekend.
I just received a mini MISTI for Christmas! I am so very excited about using that tool!

  17. My area is such a mess—I really need to get organized like you are!

Some supplies I almost always use when stamping are my wonderful mini MISTI (it is a great tool!), a Versafine black onyx inkpad, a Wink of Stella pen (in clear), baby wipes, and a paper cutter.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The mini MISTI is something I use quite a bit. And Copic markers. I haven't gotten any new tools lately either, I guess. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love my MISTI. And the Wink of Stella glitter pen. I love how you have your Copics. I don't have a permanent desk (I use a card table or the kitchen table) so my markers are in a plastic tub that is stored in a cupboard, but I would love to have mine like that. Thanks for the chance to win!

  20. The tool that is a must in my craft room is my Misti!! I was put off by the price but found it on sale so ordered it.Boy am I glad I did as I use it all the time now and can't imagine crafting without it:)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I just got a new misti and I get to test it today! Will you come organize my super messy space for me?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great set up, but shouldn't you store Copics on their side? :-)

  23. Hi Kim, my favorite tool right now is my MISTI. I have it in both sizes! Couldn't imagine crafting without it! I love your stamps and dies.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This is a great topic! My 3 must haves, besides the usual, are the Tombow Mono Sand eraser, the Xyron Adhesive Eraser (I make lots of mistakes :), and my very old, but beautiful & clean-cutting, Quickutz Revolution. And of course all of my adorable Ps products.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Despite my effort, my craft room is over crowded with my supplies. I have a craft desk and set up by Stamp N Storage. My favorite tool is my pair of small shears from Tom Holz. They are a bit serrated and cut through paper, fabric, adhesives with out getting sticky or dull...and they fussy cut perfectly. My next purchase will be a Misti.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Love seeing a peek into your crafty space! My favorite tool that I have purchased recently is the MISTI. It's been awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  27. While my space isn't as organized as yours, I will say that the plastic boxes that I've bought for my sequins, wood veneers, and washi tape within the last year have been great organizational tools. The boxes are actually made for beads, but I've bought different sizes of boxes and it's made that portion of my space as least presentable!
Other than that, I haven't bought any tools in years! My ATG gun, Fiskars non-stick scissors and trimmer are still alive and kickin'! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. your set up is so neat. I have black ink, scissors, markers, colored pencils and adhesives in front of me, a cutting mat on my work surface, my computer and then on the counter are lots of other cubbies for inks, papers, punches, embellies, cabinets above me hold stamps and paper, cabinets beside me hold paper and dies, drawers hold wooden stamps. scraps are in a rolling file at my feet. the only new tool i have is the misti. love it!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh my goodness...so neat and orderly. My space always starts out that way but end up a grand mess. I need tape runner and my bone folder and paper piercer close as well as tombow glue. My goal is to get better organized for supplies.

    ReplyDelete
  30. After cleaning up my space, the neat and tidy area lasts two or three days - wish it was longer! I use an old library table and plastic drawer cabinets on each side. The table is deep so I can keep tools, stamps and ink along the back edge. But paper scraps, embellishments, glue, tape and idea sheets take up mos of my free space. will have to work on that. love the Misti!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome organised desk! My "can't do without" tools are simply glue and scissors, but of course there is so much else that I use!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. My craft space is in an old double closet that I opened up. Almost everything I own is at hands reach...love that, I'm totally surrounded by everything! My scissors, tape/glue is always right on the table, never put away.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am envious of your clean desk!!! I am all about my paper trimmer!!! Love having the straight and crisp lines; so I purchased a new Tonic 12x6 paper trimmer and I am loving it! Next is a sharp craft knife. Love love to fussy cut my images, so I use one to get into all the little tight spaces!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. That is awsome organization. I use a lazy Susan that I found at a garage sale that is by pampered chef for utensils. Paid $1.00

    ReplyDelete
  35. How perfectly placed everything is - just beautiful!! My craft room is filled with organized chaos and very eclectic, but it works! I would be lost without the two wood carousels organizers on my desk. My "gotta have" tools (besides the standard inks, markers, paper trimmer, etc.): MISTI tool, ATG tape gun (1/4" and 1/2") and retractable craft pick.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, it's always exciting to see a fellow crafter's work table. Yours is so tidy, it speaks to the Virgo in me! My favourite toy at the moment is my new camcorder. It's not strictly a tool, but since I just started a card making YouTube channel, it's my greatest ally these days! :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Your space is so neatly organized. I have a rolling drawer cart where I have scissors, glue dots, crafters tape, etc. Right behind me is another set of drawers with ink pads, embellishments, stamps, and dies. And just to the side are stacks of paper pads. I do have to get up to use the paper cutter. It all works together pretty well!

    ReplyDelete
  38. WOW your craft space is so clean! My go-to crafting tools are my Copics (including Copic multiliner in black, warm and cool gray); my MISTI Stamp Perfect tools; Art Glitter glue for wet glue with a fine nozzle tip; a Fiskars spring loaded scissors (can't use any others with my arthritis); and my Big Shot die cutting/embossing tool. πŸ˜† Thanks for sharing and always inspiring (this time to clean my desk a bit -- LOL)! Big hugs, Kristina

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kim, I have to agree... you have one nicely organized (and neat) space. My craft space is a spare room... which is badly in need of a good cleaning. LOL My absolute favorite crafting tools are my ATG tape runner and Stampin' Up! trimmer. Nothing gets made without these two favs. Thanks for the chance to win PS $$$, and have a great weekend!

  40. Your craft space is so bright and tidy! Mine looks like someone threw a hand grenade on it and ducked for cover! My husband custom built a L-shaped desk space for me,that manages to fit my laptop, printer, cricut and a few organizers on it! Underneath I have a little cabinet that holds odds and ends as well as my big shot..however, my big things is I have a floor to ceiling storage unit that holds pretty much everything else! And yet......this is still not enough and I have 2 more units underneath the stairs along with 6 crates of paper to hold everything! No matter how organized I get, I still have way too much stuff...thus like you, I am hoping to get into my space more this year and really work on layouts and such to use up so much of what I already have!
Right now, my go-to tools are my cricut as well as my fine-tip glue and some foam strips to make shaker cards! I really want to get a FUSE tool to help with pockets and sealing so that will probably be the only purchase I make this year! I also want to possibly invest in a flair tool to make my own flair buttons seeing as I have NONE! LOL
Thanks for the chance to win!

  41. Other than the obvious such as glue, trimmers etc., I can't do without my we r memory keepers corner chompers, cropadile, power punches, and punch boards. And the new products they have coming out. Oh and you must have a Misti stamping tool! Your space looks so nice- you MUST go in there to play more!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your craft space is clean. You can come clean mine. My go to tools are: MISTI (ever since I got this it has changed my stamping), Martha Stewart score board, Cricut Explore Air, Sizzix BIGkick and Tim Holtz scissors (only scissors I use).

  44. Hi Kim! I love your desk and workspace! I craft on my kitchen table so I have a medium sized basket that keeps my essentials like my paper cutter, stamp cleaner, acrylic blocks, adhesive, etc. that can be easily pulled out to the table. I also use a lazy susan for tools that I pull out to the table. I do like your system and will check into that for colored pencils, etc. The other tool I want to purchase is the Misti for perfect placement and ink coverage. And one of your reader tips for placing a magnet on the side of their lazy susan for dies in use sounds clever.

  45. Love to see people's creative spaces. Thanks for sharing. Now, what is it that I need?? LOL

  46. Your desk looks so tidy and organized. Mine not so much. My go to tools are my BigShot, my MISTI, my trimmer and my scoreboard.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Kim, your work area is so neat. You'd probably pass out using my space. I found "out of sight, out of mind" is true for me, so my space is cluttered. Just got a Big Shot (had a Cuttlebug)so I'm enjoying that. And the MISTI really is like it's name- love it. Thanks for a chance at your giveaway & keep up the Great Work!

  48. What a neat workplace. My resolution was organization but I have not gotten very far.Someone mentioned hand grenade. I can relate to that. The tools that I use constantly: paper trimmer, Spellbinder Platinum die cutter, xyron creative station, tombows, and lots of other things that I can't think of. I love your perfect space and would love the organization unit.

  49. Your craft desk is so clean!! Mine is usually a mess, until I clean up all the things I used on the last card I made, then I'm good to go for the next one. I would definitely recommend getting a MISTI! Best tool ever invented!

  50. Hi Kim

I was recently a Stampin Up demonstrator and collected a lot of their tools. Love my stampin trimmer and punches.

    ReplyDelete
  52. So pretty to just look at!!! My all time favorite tools are my ATG gun, my Cuttlebiug, my acrylic blocks (yes I have a mini MISTI, which is great, but I'll still usually choose my blocks!) and my little guillotine trimmer. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Kim, I admire your organization, wish I had the room to organize. I don't know if you use sequins or not, but I would recommend the Darice 82-Piece Tiny Container Storage Tray, its great for handling my sequin addiction. Happy New Year.

  54. Sweet give away. I went to desk Maid's web sight. They have some really neat products to organize well.

    ReplyDelete
  55. What a lovely organized desk you have. Mine can look like that when I'm not crafting...which usually means seldom. πŸ˜‚ I converted the closet in our second bedroom to my craft space, so organization is key. For the smaller tools that I use often like scissors, watercolor brush, tweezers, etc. , I keep them in a Staples rotating desk organizer. I store my ink pads on wall mounted ink pad holders from Organize More. The two most used tools are The Big Shot and my three MISTIs πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚πŸ˜. The Big Shot is on my desk beside the rotating organizer off in the corner and my MISTIs are right at hand in a cubby organizer.

  56. My go-to tools include my Ranger inking tool and Ranger Walnut stain ink, my Wink-of-Stella clear glitter pen, my mini Misti, my Fiskars cutter, and my shammy to clean my stamps. Love this desk organizer! Thanks for a chance to win. :D

  57. Love your desk so neat and organized! I went in my craft room, looked around and walked right back out. Still messy from all the holiday crafting.LOL. Still don't have the energy to clean it nor any mojo to craft. Anyway, my favorite tool right now is the misty. I have the mini misty and was think of getting the bigger misty or trying the we r memory keepers version.

  58. Your desk looks great. I like the holder that has your paint brushes etc. in it.
At my work table, on my right is my Fiskars trimmer, in front of me are my acrylic blocks, to the left is a spinning tool caddy that holds my adhesive, (ATC gun & liquid adhesives), paper scorer, paper piercer, pencil, fave journaling pen, variety of scissors, etc.

  66. I can't believe how neat your crafting area is. Mine always looks like a disaster area. LOL! Guess that means that I'm actually working on something. If I have to pick a tool that I use all the time it would be my dies and die cutting machine. I hardly ever make a card without a dir cut on it. But my paper cutter and MISTI are also go to tools. Love them!

  68. Wow, your desk is so neat and organized! Two of my favorite tools are my MISTI and my Brother ScanNCut2. The MISTI makes stamping so much easier, and the ScanNCut saves me money on dies.

  69. Wow...such a neat area. I love that you have your Copics are right at your fingertips. I need some good Copic storage. My favorite tool is my Tim Holtz guillotine that I won from Jennifer McGuire a year ago.

  70. Nice work space. I like to keep my scissors and tape runner close by.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wow, I am very envious on how organized your desk area is! I keep my Fiskars timer propped vertically against the wall near my chair to save table space when it is not in use. Other than that, my tools are usually scattered on the table...

One interesting thing: I was told to store my ink pads upside down, to keep the ink at the top of the pad due to gravity. I noted with interest that your ink pads are kept right-side up.

  78. I love seeing how other crafters organize their space :) My favorite and most used tools are my Sizzix die cut machine, my fiskars paper trimmer, my Tim Holtz craft pick and any adhesive I can get my hands on. I don't have a designated craft room so all of my stuff has to be taken out of my craft cupboard and then put back every time I craft. Keeping my cupboard organized makes this much easier.

  82. So nice and neat! My craft room is kind of a disaster and honestly it's more for storage, I don't do a ton of crafting there just because I tend to take stuff downstairs to work on while the hubby and I catch up on shows . It's like the cooking shows, where you run into the kitchen, grab what you need and take it to your workspace. Anyway, these days my go tos are Copics, my watercolor set, the MISTI and the Big Shot.

That is really one tool I can't live without--that big mat, by making memories. Anything I spill on it, I cm just wipe up, and I use the grid lines for measuring things all the time or lining up a square edge. Thanks for a chance at an awesome giveaway!

  92. What a lovely tidy space to work in! I have to take all my supplies to the dining table each time i want to make something, then pack it away again. I always grab my card, watercolour paper, stamp block, black ink, the stamps i think i want to use, then go back and forth for anything else that comes up as a need, such as other ink, glue/foam squares, guillotine for cutting, whatever. It's a pain!

  94. Okay, I just worked 5 hours cleaning and organizing in my "two" craft rooms, and now, after seeing your desk, I am totally demoralized. I still have at least another day to purge supplies and move things off the table before I can even craft in there!! My problem is that I like to try and master every new thing that comes out, then it goes on a shelf. I am not a good picker-upper either. I should feel ashamed, but after reading through all these posts, I feel as though I have found my niche. I can start crafting on a clean table, and within 15 minutes, I have crowded myself into a 7-inch working space with piles of stuff around me!! I guess that is just the way it is. My go to tools/materials are inks and colored pencils(or color of some form, stamps, embellishments, and a sense of experimentation!!

  97. Love your space...my desk is never this organized! My go to tools are my Friskars trimmer, Zig markers, scoreboard and Cuttlebug. And now I think I will be using my new tool the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect tool quite often.

  100. I don't have a desk, I have a portable table that is a stand in for a desk. Next to that is my handy dandy turnstile that I have my essential supplies, xacto knife, scissors, ruler, pens, pencils, ATG gun. I love your work station, wish mine was as nice as yours.

  101. My room in very organized but my desk, not so much. I have TOO MUCH STUFF as my husband would say. Every time I clean, he tells me he cannot see what I did. Anyhow, I would say as far as new supplies-the MISTI stamp tool and either a clear Wink of Stella pen OR a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle marker to give some shine to colored images or die cut sentiments cut from card stock. I would also say maybe some NUVO drops in some fun colors. Who am I kidding...I can never stop at one supply!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful set up.

  102. I am a cutting & pasting kind of girl so my go to tools are my paper trimmer, punches, cricut & the big shot. Only thing I have bought new is some dies for the big shot. I do have lots of stamps too but I hardly use them. I did try the new water color pencils from SU but not sure if I would really use them much so they are on my think about it list. :) Happy crafting & have a great week :)
