Happy 6th Anniversary to Paper Smooches!

Paper Smooches is SIX!
My goodness...where do I start?
First of all - THANK YOU - from the bottom of my heart for the most amazing six years.  I would NOT be here without YOU!  You have stuck by me, cheered us on and supported us through the years.  I am forever grateful...my heart is so full.

For those of you who are relatively new to Paper Smooches...I'd like to share a little bit about me and my company.

I started drawing pictures and painted pictures at a very young age.  Although my painting was displayed in a museum when I was 17, I never dreamed of a future with art.  About 12 years ago, I discovered scrapbooking and I was hooked!  I started submitting to magazines and to got published quite a lot.  I reached many goals and my creative soul was getting the spark that it needed.  I decided to jump feet first into the world of illustration.  Paper Smooches was born.  Orders flew in and I was humbled that crafters were welcoming my art into their homes and retail stores.

One thing yo may not know about me is that I am legally blind.  I usually keep that a secret out of fear that people won't believe me because I can draw and paint so beautifully. I was born with Ocular Albinism.  If you'd like to read about it, you can click HERE.  I work from home because I can't drive...I have a huge computer monitor and it does take me quite a while to draw new products.  I would release 5 stamp sets each month if I could. but it takes so long to create the way I need to. I feel so fortunate to have the gift of art and it brings me great joy to share a piece of myself with the world.

I worked so incredibly hard for 5 years and then last year I decided that I needed to take a small step back because it was getting harder to keep up and also enjoy my personal life.  So I chose to release half as many products and wow did that ever help me.  I met the most amazing man...and we will be getting married on April 22nd this year.  Thank you for your patience with me.  Now that I am in a happy place, I can focus on creating super cute art for Paper Smooches in 2017.  I have so many ideas that I am excited about - I cannot wait to create them for you!!

I have some fun things planned this month to celebrate our 6th Anniversary.
Please check by our blog each day in February :).

Let's start this party off with a giveaway...
Please comment and tell me how you found Paper Smooches.
Pinterest, a designer, Facebook, Instagram...etc...
You have until midnight on February 3rd to comment.
The winner will be announced here on February 4th.
What can you win?

Cheers <3
Love you!!
Kim

About two years ago I was on Pinterest and I ran across a beautiful card by Kristina Werner so I started watching her videos. I love what I do now and it is the most calming part of my day.

  106. First, I must say how inspiring your story is! I first learned about Paper Smooches from a card Sandy Allnock created using the Chubby Chums dog, cow, pig, etc. I thought they were adorable and just had to have them!! Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding-being married is the best!!

  115. Kim, congratulations on Paper Smooche's 6th Birthday and even more so on your upcoming marriage. I started off Scrapbooking and discovered Scrapbook.com and YouTube. After finding more and more card videos, I found that I really liked making cards and Paper Smooches is one of the companies I found in both places. I then discovered the individual blogs and direct sites were the way to go, therefore, I have been getting your emails for a couple years now. Thank You for sharing with us.

  129. I started cardmaking about four years ago. In the beginning I had NO idea of the big and awesome community I would find online...
Then I found the german online store Stempelküche with lots of cute stamps I've never seen before - from Paper Smooches (and some other brands). I think in these days there were not so many shops here in Germany with all these cute brands. I started to order there and it's still a place where I find what I love! :-)
Although I also order in other stores I think Carolin (the owner) has a bigger number of PS-products than other stores in Germany. Still love the shop. And still love all my Paper Smooches Stamps and Dies I found there!
My first set was "Falling for you" short time later followed by "Happy Camper", "Swanky Snowdudes" and "Spring Grooves". I stop here, cause it would be a very long list when I would write about all my goodies ;-)

I wish you (and all of us) a wonderful celebrating-time and the very best for everything else. Enjoy your life!
    Greetings from Wiebke

You truly are gifted and amazing! I descovered paper smooches searching through Ellen Hutson and Simon Says Stamps new inventory. I only knew of Stampin' Up at the time so when I discovered SSS and EH, I was blown away and completely overwhelmed. I'm amazed at all the support in this industry. Everyone is creating what they love to share with others and there is really no greater gift. Happy Anniversaey to you and may success find you always!!!

  150. I don't know where I first found Paper Smooches. My guess was that I saw a card made with a wiener dog stamp of yours on Pinterest and it was love at first sight, but I don't know for sure. I have a wiener dog so anyone who has wiener dogs has a customer in me. However, my love of your stamps and dies went way beyond that first wiener dog, I can assure you! I now have your stamps for every holiday and occassions. I have sentiments in wonderful fonts that only Paper Smooches makes. I have countless dies that match my stamps or now work wonderfully on their own! I believe I've been a customer for the last 4 years, for sure, possibly longer. I am so thankful that your company is doing well and wish you many, many more years of success. You story is inspirational and you should share it! You are proof that anything can be possible if you are willing to work at it! Congratulations on your upcoming marriage as well! I pray God will bless you both as you start your new lives together! Best wishes for every area of your future!!
