Ancient Egyptian eye makeup provided psychic protection as well beauty enhancement. An unadorned and thus unprotected eye was believed vulnerable to the Evil Eye. Outlining the eyes became a personal protective amulet drawn right upon the skin that, once applied, could not be lost or stolen.

Paper Smooches and Our Creative Escape

Hello friends!

I have some fun and exciting news to share!

My husband and I opened a retail store here in Goodyear, Arizona.  It's called Our Creative Escape.

Here is a progress photo.  I have been so busy that I haven't taken any of the final pictures...but I have plans to do that today.  So you can look forward to more pictures from me.

We have a cute gift shop that includes our Paper Smooches stamps and dies along with many essential paper crafting items.  We also have a large painting studio that can seat 40 students.  Our ribbon cutting was on January 22nd and out official opening day was yesterday - eeeek!

I have decided with the opening of our new store that I need to concentrate on that a bit, so I am not creating new art for Paper Smooches at this time.  I am not saying that I will never create new art, but not for the moment.  Paper Smooches is not going anywhere :)

We will not have a design team blog hop since we don't have new stamps and dies to promote, but I will continue to share new cards on the PS blog.

Paper Smooches will continue to run business as usual.
Thank you so incredibly much for the love and support you have shown to us over the past SEVEN years!  Yes, 7 fantastic years - our Anniversary is on February 1st :)

It's Joy's last week as our guest - she did an amazing job!!
