Sunday Recap 3.4

Hello, Paper Smooches fans and friends!

Savannah O'Gwynn here today sharing a really quick update on what's going on in the PS world.

Did you catch our relaunch for the monthly challenges? We started them back up this month!!! We started with a fan favorite, a sketch, and we have three winners instead of one 🤗 Click HERE for more details and to play along! Or link up below!

Also, I need your help! I have been taking some time to think about how to make videos again. It's been kind of hard to make videos due to our move and then I got some nasty comments here recently that broke my heart. Could you leave a comment and let me know what you want to see in our Virtual Smooches videos? Here are some questions to think about-

  • Did you know we have an educational blog where we share videos of tips, tricks, techniques, and funnies!?
  • Do you want to see basic how-to's?
  • Unique techniques?
  • How I process ideas or how I create something that is popular without the same supplies (kind of like THIS video where I created a pixelated image using the PS Cross Stitch die and glue dots)?
  • What would make you watch one of our videos?
  • How can I make better videos for you?
I've had a blooper video (a fav for everyone because it shows we all make mistakes) ready for some time, but I am afraid to share another video since I've received hurtful comments lately. I know I'm nothing compared to Jennifer McGuire... but I do have some ideas I would like to share! And before I do, I want to make sure I'm sharing what you want to see and learn. Thank you for taking the time to let me know your thoughts and for your love and support!

MORE inspiration to come this week from the DT using some of their favorite stamp sets and even some sets that haven't been used! So be sure to stop back by ❤️

Thanks so much for stopping by! And thanks for your help with my videos and feedback! Be blessed ❤️ Sav

  1. So sorry you received negative comments, especially here on the blog. I love watching all of your videos. I love to see videos made with the Paper Smooches stamps and dies as I do not see enough of those. No special ideas are popping into my head, just like to see more. Thanks for sharing your heart and love in the videos and blog posts you create. You are loved!

    1. I just thought of something, I love seeing videos that relate to the current challenge. This month, the sketch challenge would be great to see ideas in a video.

  2. I am so sorry to hear you received negative comments. I love watching your video's. My favorite video's to watch are technique based or one stamp/die set used multiple ways for a variety of ideas. Keep up the video's. I am looking forward to the next one.

  3. Oh Savannah... I don't know why people do the things they do... please don't let it stop you from sharing your awesome talents with everyone. Don't let the haters win. Hugs to you! I don't watch videos often just because my life doesn't really leave room for it... so I'll leave the suggestions for those who do... just wanted to send you some love and support. Excited about the new challenges and I am planning on playing along! Thanks for all of your inspiration all of the time! I don't always make it here to tell you, but I love getting the emails in my inbox of yours and all of the DT makes!

  4. Please don't let the trolls get you down. You're super talented and it's a blessing that you're willing to take all that time and energy to share your talents with us. Trolls are always around and they try to drag others down with them to somehow fill the voids they have in their lives. When I started to get thumbs down on my videos, my hubby said we should celebrate because that was a sign I'd hit the big time! So sending big tight hugs and wishes you'll celebrate! XOXO, Kristina

  5. Don't allow unkind people to stop you from doing what you love. There's no need to compare yourself to anyone else, there will always be fans who appreciate what you do and the tremendous effort you put into your work.

  6. So sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time lately, sometimes others just have no filter or sense of kindness. I have always enjoyed your videos, especially the ones featuring your Grandpa. I personally love technique videos, and you just keep being you girl, because your awesome!

  7. I have received hurtful comments over the years myself, and I know how deeply they cut. Sometimes people with a deep pain within themselves, lash out. Try (I know this is hard) to forgive them and move on knowing that their criticism had nothing whatsoever to do with you.
I am so impressed with anyone who has the courage to make videos, and truly appreciate all the time and effort and love that goes into making one. Keep it up. Do any kind of video that makes YOU happy, then it will be fun for you to do!

  8. First, there are people out there who provide negative comments on every thing out there and sometimes they don't even watch. it's a sport. Second, wow, you've accomplished so much and clearly could not have done so without having a great deal of talent. Do not let them break your heart. !!!!!
