Our April Guest design search begins...

TODAY!

You know the drill...

Guest Designers will receive 2 NEW stamp sets and 2 shaped card templates and will have their name and projects featured here on the PS blog for 3-4 weeks (depending on how many weeks there are in the month).

You will have approx. two weeks to show us your talent! You can submit as many projects as you like and past submissions are welcome. Guest designers are not chosen randomly. We will be looking for designers who stand out in one (or more) of the following categories:

great use of color
outstanding design
mad coloring skills
fun paper piecing
pure cleverness

You will need to use a Paper Smooches stamp or any of our FREE digi stamps. A new digi image and sentiment were added to the PS web site last night. You can find it HERE. Past digi images and sentiments were moved to a tab at the top of this blog. You can submit to our call with "old and new" projects...and projects that you create for our SPARKS Challenge.

The deadline is Wednesday, March 21st. Our April guest designer will be announced on Thursday, March 22nd.

Our new FREE digi is now available - I am a bit buried at the moment with product design, so I had to improvise. I combined an image and sentiment from our Hang Ups stamp set for you to enjoy :)

Smarty Pants out there!

Teri's card is just neat! I love how she colored only what's in the speech bubbles. That blue marker really sets them off!

Erica Messervy joins us as our distinguished March guest designer. We are thrilled to have her join us!

Erica used SIX stamps from the set - WOW! She created a wonderful balance...and did you notice that she popped up the pencil? How wonderful that she used cork and matted her focal image on school paper (great card)

Yup, this is just plain CUTE!! The added bling is the perfect touch! I don't know how she lined up that crayon so perfectly....that would be barely impossible with a red rubber stamp. Well done.

boy, has this been a very popular set! I hope to see these little guys splattered over the net!

Laurie and Emily both created such sweet cards using the zebra...check it!

*love* this color combo! Did you notice all of the fabulous texture going on? She has a zebra embossing folder - be still my heart! LOVE this card!!!

Emily paired her zebra with our Timber background stamp - brilliant!! She also used our Alphadot set to create the sentiment that she was looking for.

It's Monday - woohooo, we have a fresh new week to play with ;)

I am drawing, so I need to make this a short post...

I find it amazing that two designers can think so closely along the same lines...check this out!

Kryssi's blue, white and teal card looks amazing all glittered and popped up! (GREAT design)

...and Heidi's blue, white and teal card is a fabulous celebration card. She also popped up the front set of buildings and has white windows.

Great minds think alike...this is certainly the case :)

Let's LEAP into...

release night - woooohooo

TONIGHT at midnight (eastern standard time) we release 24 NEW stamps and stamp sets. I am so excited that I can barely stand it!

We have one more stamp to share and give away.
It's called PARTY PALS. I combined the cat from Party Posse with the rabbit from A Little Lovin and added a balloon between them...it was so much fun to put together!

Oh my gosh...LOVE all of the samples and that lil' monkey is just TOO cute!!!

And I have four more cards to share that I am busting at the seams about!

Let's start with Heather's darling little creations:

Ummmm, how stinkin cute are these? I just absolutely LOVE 'em!

And this card is perfect - LOVE the touch of bling, the cool/graphic style and her fussy cutting is awesome!

Today marks the end of our guest designer's term. I have really enjoyed Heather. Each project she created was an eye-popper! What a VERY talented designer - I will really miss working with her...

Teri stamped with Eco Friendly and the NEW Zoo Crew

I am really diggin the cool blue paired with grey, black and white!! Notice how she stamped off the image to portray movement - brilliant card!

Teri used 3 of the 5 animals from the set....and so sweetly I must say :) The jungle leaf and birthday hat are also from the set....the sentiment is from Chit Chat and the word bubble is from HE SAID, SHE SAID. Super cute!!

ok friends...this is the end of our Anniversary celebration. It was so much fun that we will definitely consider doing the same next year!

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of the love and support that you have shown us though the year. It has been an amazing journey with you. I have enjoyed every minute. I hope Paper Smooches will be around forever...and I hope that you will join us. Forever isn't too much to ask, is it? :)

Our Anniversary celebration continues until tomorrow.

Today, we are excited to share this new CHA stamp with you:

This cute guy is called LOVE MONKEY. I simply combined the monkey with the balloons from our Smoocheroos stamp set and added some strings...he is a great size for layouts, this stamp is approx. 3 x 4.

Karolyn created this darling card. Great use of color and pattern - love it!

We have some Spring Fling samples to share...

I love how Emily chose more subdued colors instead of a traditional primary or pastel palette. She used the paint brush is such a clever way - wow!

Laurie's white flirty card base really sets off the colored images. Shabby Chic meets fun and cute - great card!!

and...here are more peeks of Metropolis that releases on March 1st

Emily used card stock from our Esther collection. What an incredibly cute card!! She used the buildings exactly how I envisioned them :) She also made great use of our HE SAID, SHE SAID stamp set that also releases on March 1st. - ohhh, and she used the cloud for bushes - so fun!!

Laurie used the road, sentiment, stars and car from Metropolis and created the coolest night scene!

what a fun stamp set!

Here are two new CHA stamps that are truly unique...
Please welcome:
DUDE BLOCK:

and BABE BLOCK:

Both 3 x 4 stamps are a solid clear stamp. One is masculine and one is feminine because of the scalloped edge. So what is the purpose you ask? Well, imagine these stamps inked up with delicious juicy ink and layered...or used as a subtle background? Use them as "bricks".

...and today we have a special treat for you. A tutorial! No, I didn't make the video (sorry), but one of our talented SPARKS designers did.

One very cool technique that you can do is mirror stamping...you can flip an image. Marie shows you how HERE.

Here is another tip when creating a reversed image:
1. Stamp the image with black ink onto the solid stamp
2. Press stamp onto paper to flip the image
3. Stamp the image that is not reversed with a dark grey ink so that the images will be the same color as the first image
4. OR stamp off the second image once and then stamp....the ink will be slightly lighter, like the reversed stamp image.

Heidi's card is simple - and amazing. I love how one accent says it all.

and how cute is this?!? It makes me think there is yummy strawberry milk inside. What a fun little drink box! I imagine they would make adorable baby shower favors (or wedding)

Heidi made this fabulous card with the pencil, sentiment and stick pin from our new stamp set. Isn't it so clever?? The pin is a solid stamp, so you can stamp it with endless colors - it's so much fun to use :)

Kryssi used the argyle border stamp from DEBONAIR and the professor, sentiment and grad cap from SMARTY PANTS. I realize that congratulations is normally spelled with a "t", but I wanted to put emphasis on a Graduation theme, so I changed the spelling and enlarged the GRAD letters to draw attention to the message.

*phew* that was a lot to take in, I know, but i appreciate you spending a little of your Monday with us :)

Today we are sharing HE SAID, SHE SAID - this set works wonderfully with our stamp sets. We have so many cute critters that would love the chance to chat with each other.

And here's a VERY cool sample that was created by Karolyn:

She heat embossed each word bubble and cut them out (wow). She then used our Alphadot set to create her fun message. The question mark is heat embossed also - yummm. Anyone have a very chatty friend who would just love this card?

Teri created this clever card with Good Gab. Did you see that she stamped on the buttons? She also "stamped off" some of the sentiments...what a great look!

Heather joins us again today with these amazing little creations using Eco Friendly.
Wow, her coloring is simply beautiful! I love how she created a mat with a softer stamped sentiment - brilliant card :)

Swwwooooon! Great design, love the colors - just awesome!!!

Today is my favorite CHA set. It's called REFLECTIONS. I LOOOOVE silhouettes. This set is great for creating accents and background papers. I think you all will have a lot of fun with this set...I expect to have my socks knocked off when I see how it's used.

Heidi created a sample for us today (a WOW one). She combined REFLECTIONS with our new Houndstooth background stamp. Isn't it gorgeous???

a special little "hop"

Today we are promoting our "Little Fella" stamp set which was technically a CHA release since it was shown there for the first time.

In it's former life, this set was called "Little Guy". The skateboard isn't as huge, the robot had a major face lift, but I think it makes him more approachable. The stars can be "cool shades" or used as a border accent. I guess they were all "softened" up a bit ;)

I added some Zva Creative bling to the crown. The word "my" was hand written. I paper pieced his eyeballs...The white paper is on the base image and the green eyelids are added on top. I'd like to jump in a polka dotted lake right now, just sayin' :)

Oh my ... love the gingham ... what fab backgrounds!!!

...and today we bring you PRIMARY. I named this border set Primary because it covers the basics. The heart was taken from our Smoocheroos stamp set and the star is from My Guy. I wanted to create a set that is unique to our whimsical style. And polka dots - a need - nuff said :)

Emily used the Primary set to enhance her borders. She also used Helping Hands and Healthy Vibes stamp sets. Super cute card.

Today, we are sharing our DEBONAIR stamp set. Karolyn put together a masculine border set that makes me OH so happy! I love using pieces of patterns on my cards, this set makes it so easy! Imagine stamping the gingham in every color - yummmm. We are giving this set away today - and so is Karolyn...

What a fun background!!

...and today we are showcasing the DAPPER background. This is the third stamp that Karolyn designed. It reminds me of a gentleman's coat. It's very masculine and I love that!! It's a two-tone stamp...the color you use will be seen in a darker and lighter shade. It's just so neat!

This page uses many of our CHA stamps. There is no patterned paper used on this layout...well unless you consider a distressed paper a pattern :)

I love this stamp - I've got a dress in Houndstooth, it's a fab pattern! x

...and today we are sharing our HIP TO BE SQUARE background. This is another pattern that was created by Karolyn. I LOVE it!! I imagine popping up some of the blocks, coloring them in different colors, layering them for smaller squares...ack, I can't wait to create with this retro-cool pattern more!

That is a very unique stamp, I love it!

Today we have a stamp background that I swoooooon over. The HOUNDSTOOTH pattern...it makes my heart skip! I have always loved color and pattern...and as soon as I started this company, I knew I would have to introduce pattern stamps one day. My strength is drawing...reading manuals and figuring out new programs is definitely a weakness for me. I like to learn as I go...it's the hard way, but that's how I roll.

So, I have the most amazing friend. We met when I moved to Arizona and I knew right away that we could have the kind of friendship that would last forever. I am talking about Karolyn Loncon. This person also happens to be an amazing designer with a great eye! We crop together every Tuesday...and on one of those Tuesdays, I asked her if she would like to give product design a try. I already knew that I loved her style...and I knew that she was a hard working gal...so she seemed to be the perfect person to help make my (patterned) vision come to life. She exceeded my expectations and designed SIX of the 20 new CHA releases.

Houndstooth is her first of the six stamps that I will share with you this month. Isn't it FABULOUS? You can stamp this in any ink color.

I promise to try and work on video tutorials, but until then, I'd like to offer up some tips of how to use this block of wonderfulness.

1. Twist the pad onto the stamp slightly to get into all of the grooves
2. Leave inked pattern facing up and press your paper onto it...use a brayer for even pressure
3. Ink your pattern stamp with a clear Versamark pad first...then apply ink...then press the stamp to paper. The Versamark helps the ink "stick" to the clear stamp
4. Don't fret if your impressions isn't perfect...it can look like a fabric...or you can cut the image down to use the more "perfect" part of the impression
5. Use scrap paper to "get to know" your stamps before you commit to your final project.
6. If you don't have a large acrylic block, don't worry...I leave my background stamps on the acetate sheet...it cleans off easily with baby wipes and it's not as bulky as a block
7. Use a mouse pad or magazine for a cushion.
8. Stamping should be fun, not frustrating, so try to enjoy the process

I think this is a different looking wood grain...it can have other uses...use it as a zebra stripe (color in some of the striped black) or a tiger stripe maybe? Let's CELEBRATE!

Phew...it has been a LONG couple of months preparing for CHA, but it was very worth it! It hit me at CHA that I wasn't able to prepare a "party" for our one year Anniversary and it bummed me out! We HAVE to celebrate! Our CHA release will be available on March 1st...so let's have a giveaway every weekday until then..woohooooo. The timing works out perfectly. We have 20 new stamps and sets, so we will give away at least one stamp every day through Feb. 29th.

our release day!

Our February release went live at 10:00 PM MT, so our February stamps are officially available...yay! They won't ship quite as fast as usual since I arrive home late tonight...but I will start on orders as soon as I wake up on Feb. 2nd. Thank you so much for your patience...unfortunately, my Mother In Law or Dad can't handle that amount of volume.

Teri's card takes me back to my childhood..and my love for painting. I love that she created a "coloring book" look!! Her coloring is beautiful.

Eco Friendly consists of weather related topics...but I was also inspired by term that is associated with March - In like a lion...out like a lamb". Which I suppose is more of a seasonal thing, but i thought it fit nicely with the overall theme of the set. I hear that many of you like our nesting momma and baby elephants...so I thought I'd design this couple the same way.

Emily created this daring little stormy card. She added some circles from the Swanky Snowdudes set. Awesome color combo, isn't it? Tornadoes are scary, so I like to think of this little guy as a dust devil. We get them here in AZ and they are neat to watch, but only because they don't usually cause any harm to anyone.

This is pure sweetness! I love how Laurie embellished this sweet scene. Absolutely swoon worthy :)

I am preposting...so know that I am most likely standing in our booth at CHA giving someone a huge hug. I will take pictures, I promise.

Today you get to see more of our newest release.
The set that we are featuring today is called Good Gab. You are all eating up our sentiment sets with a big spoon - we LOVE that...so we keep making them. I designed the set up of this set the same way as our best seller - Sentiment Sampler.

Heidi created sweet simplicity...great colors...awesome design...nuff said :)

you are smiling...I just know it. Kryssi used a sentiment from Good Gab...AND...the images are found on the new SPRING FLING stamp set. Her shadowing adds the perfect dimension. Great card!

I used the NEW Good Gab sentiment stamp set. It has a lot of fun sayings :) The heart comes along the left side of the word "smitten". It can be colored or inked in a different color if you use an ink pen.

Check our how wicked clever this card is! I LOVE - LOVE - LOVE the nail polish! This card really makes a statement!!

Today is a sad day...we have to say good-bye to Julie as our guest designer. She realllllly rocked the Smooches this month! This is one super sweet card. Aren't those stacked animals SO much fun?!? It makes me grin from ear to ear. Thank you to Julie for being a stellar guest (we will miss you)

I leave for CHA on Friday, but I will plan to pre-post here. I arrive home very last on Wednesday, Feb. 1st. Our release will go live as planned....but orders will take an extra day to ship since we simply won't he here to fill orders. I will add a sign to the home page as a reminder.

Our CHA release will go live on March 1st. That will give us time to get all of the product in house and ready to ship. We will show plenty of sneaks of the special release though.

This would make a wonderful gift set. I love the grey oval underneath...it really adds to the dimension of her fabulous coloring. I adore these little lounge chairs!

Heidi's card is so pretty...and it can easily adapt to be a masculine card...just remove the frillies. The pillow really pops off the page!! She created that hexagon pattern with three little hexagon shapes - wow!!

I keep reaching for card stock over patterned paper lately. I just love the cleanness of it!
Yes, I fussy cut all of those paper hands and clouds, but I really like how it turned out!

I used card stock from our new Lily Collection.

Soooo, the names for the card stock collections represent some special people in my life.

Lily was my Grandma (my Dad's Mom). I didn't know her very well. My Dad is from a very large family, so mostly I was "Amy" to her, but nonetheless...she was my Grandma. I hear from my Aunts that she was a kick in the pants - so she represents the Fun and Cute collection

Esther is my Grandma (my Mom's Mom)...she turns 89 this year and is seriously THE cutest woman on the planet - no kidding. She represents the shabby/vintage style (well for obvious reasons)

Ed is my Dad who is bold AND graphic in real life. His sense of humor is wonderful. He says it like it is and brings a smile to everyone's face.

Beverly was my beautiful Mom. In about three weeks, she will have been gone from us for 22 years. She will always and forever live in my heart. She was very classy (and elegant)

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Cool Tools Blog Hop

I had the absolute pleasure of working with a special Paper Crafts issue that's geared around "Cool Tools"! Admittedly, tools are hard for me...which doesn't make sense since they are designed to save us time. I usually take the hard route, but it's nice to be reminded that there are easier ways of doing things. I had fun thinking of innovative ways of using popular tools.

Here's the issue that I am excited about:

I was asked to create a new card using punches. I am a sucker for circles...so I reached for a few of my Marvy Uchida punches

I just punched a circle and punched another circle around that one to create a "frame". I am not sure that I love the rosey cheeks, but I guess I went a little punch crazy :)

Lauries "thumbs up" is so fun! I love those cherry red fingernails :)

How cool that Emily cut the fingers away from the palm of the hand and added string to help convey her message. VERY clever!!

I am working on some REALLY fun CHA stuff today. In case you didn't know...we are exhibiting!! EEEEEEEK!! I am beyond excited! If you are going please stop by! We are at booth number 2609 (in the new exhibitor area). It's best that you stop by as close to the end of the day as possible, and the later the day of the show, the better. The first day is always the busiest and it tends to die down from there. I can't wait to meet some of you in person!

Her stamps took their sweet time to get to Canada (they arrived yesterday), but she was sweet enought o create 2 new cards for today's post using other stamp sets.

This first one is so incredible! She stamped those polka dots to make a pattern - wow! The sweet simplicity takes my breath away :)

oh my, this cracks me up!! Get out - check the girly crab with Angelina lips!! She creeps my daughter out, but I think she is darling :)

Our January release consists of Party Posse (Birthday set), Vogue Abode (retro room builder set) and Helping Hands (super trendy set)

...and here are some more glimpses of each set:

This little/big guy is found on our Party Posse stamp set. He is way to cute to be a mean T-Rex!

This image is from Vogue Abode (isn't that fun to say?) It can be a shelving unit...or a decorative wall hang. It includes a bowl and mini vase to place in or on the shelf

And this is a thumbs up" sign. The "thingy" next to it is a fingernail that can be used with the open hand image. It's a really fun set to play with!

Ohhh how I wish I had some card samples to share today. I am literally up to my eyeballs with a list that is at least a mile long. Add 1 husband, 2 kids, 3 step kids, 4 dogs and a huge holiday to the mix. They have been home with me all week...which of course is wonderful :)

Our January release will be available at 10:00 PM mountain time on Saturday, December 31st. We are sooooo excited!!

Teri did an amazing job showing off the lighthouse. How she "accented" the card is absolutely wonderful (it really balances out the card)!

Seriously - WOW!!! This project has me speechless. Please take a moment to take all of the creativity in and see how truly clever she is. :)

What is it about this card that has me completely smitten? I just LOVE everything about it.

It has been sooooo wonderful having Melania as a guest. Each and every one of her projects blew me away. My jaw literally dropped every time I opened her e-mail. I hope you all enjoyed her creations as wmuch as we did.

feeling crabby?

I am having all 4 wisdom teeth removed today (uggg)...but not even that can put me in a "crabby mood". K, so I doubt I will be all smiles, but I don't plan on letting it get me down.

I thought a crab would make a cool image...you don't see many of them. But I really struggled with the sentiment. No one likes to think of themselves as being crabby. Can you imagine getting a card in the mail accusing you of being crabby - yikes! So, I went with a word that sounded like crab - uhhuh - crap! As ewww as that may be, I still think it's a fun sentiment.

Laurie's card is simple but oh so masculine and cool! I love the grunged look!

OhEmGeeee - how super fun! That shade of teal is delish - and that distressed card stock really adds to the beachy look. Heather used the disguise PERFECTLY! Of course she colored in the glasses to make them sunglasses - clever girl!

Our last post before Christmas...

Ohhhh how I hope you have a wonderful Christmas or Hanukkah.

We are officially ready at our house - bring it on Santa!

I am not a baker (well, I am lying, that was my maiden name, so technically I WAS a Baker) but I really don't bake - or cook...I just don't like it. My mom was the most amazing cook too. Oh how I wish I paid attention when I was a kid. (sigh) My favorite cookies that she made was kolachkis...I am sure I just butchered the spelling. Fellow Slovaks out there will know what I mean. I do make wreath cookies (from corn flakes)...and I am going to make dirt pudding for Christmas eve dinner (nope I will not be cooking dinner) I am lucky to have a wonderful Mother In Law who will take care of that...and will do an amazing job. That's the extent of my "holiday baking". Are you crazy busy baking up a storm?

Here's a couple of holiday cards that I whipped up for today.

k, so maybe the lips weren't thought out enough. I colored the moose too dark, so the kiss on his cheek is hard to see. So I glittered the kiss....not sure if it's an easy read though (you may have to look closely). I am all about breaking rules of design...so I went with hot pink and teal for my Christmas card. Are you feelin' it? The moose and sentiment are from our Chubby Chum Pals stamp set.

...and here is a super simple "base" card. I used our witch hat template to make a Santa hat. Just add a white paper strip and punched circle...nuff said :)

...are you familiar with our club? Here's more details...but basically when you become a club member you receive our whole release approx. one week before the release day. I am mailing out our January stamps to our club members today. Members not only get them early...but they get 10% off all of our products when they signed up for a 12 month membership. The shaped card templates are included as well. Just something to think about :)

Teri's super cute card showcases the silly elements found on our Chubby Chum Pals stamp set. She added the mustache, hat and glasses to the bear from the set. The sentiments are from Word Salad (what a clever card)

Be still my heart! I cannot love this card more. Deasy created this amazzzzzing scene with our Promenade set. She used the "puffs" from the topiary tree to make a Christmas tree - ummmm WOW!! This is pure eye candy :)

Wow! I just LOVE looking at this card! Her accents are just so cool! The bling and clear buttons add a GREAT touch. Definitely swoon worthy.

Sooo...

is everyone frantic with shopping lists? My Christmas shopping is done (phew). It's my first year as a step Mom :) I went from 2 kids to five in April and boy does it make Christmas even more fun!

I am hoping that these cards will make you stop for a moment...and just smile...

I LOVE how the color pops on Heather's card! She fussy cuts-perfectly! I love her rich colors and how she popped up the heart balloon...and frayed the grass. What an amazing card!!

(sigh) Laurie's card is absolutely stunning!! I love all of the textures and layers. Really such a beautiful card to look at (I am sure it's even more beautiful in person)

Something special to share - and a giveaway

Yesterday we released a NEW stamp set called Yummers and I am here today to promote this sweet set along with two of my talented friends! This is the second stamp set from our new Kismet collection.

I pulled images from many of my former CHF stamp sets. Most of the images are from the "Baked With Love" set. Other images are from "The Birds and the Bees", "Birthday Bash", "Sweet Thang" and "Hugs and Kisses". I also pulled images from some Paper Smooches stamp sets Sugar Rush - the dots, gumdrop and sprinkles (you can never have enough of these...they can be used on a block together to cover more area)...I flipped the coffee bean from Hot Concoctions and made it smaller, so that it would work with the other image in the set...kind of like a Dad and son pair.

My card sample photographed a bit wonky...the canvas brad is actually the same color as the pink ink...but you get the gist, right? The yellow seems a bit bright too (sigh)

I stamped the top of the cupcake on a separate piece of paper, stamped chocolate sprinkles...cut it out and add it to the base image.

we showed you cards using Chubby Chum Pals and today we are featuring Word Salad.

Teri added other images from other stamp sets as well. The balloons are from Smoocheroos and the bunny is a Chubby Chum...actually, he is found on our A Little Lovin stamp set :) I think her card is just soooooo stinkin' CUTE!!

Melania is back with us again today with two super adorable cards:

How wonderful that she transformed the gnome into a super cute Santa!! And ummm, did you notice that she used the cloud for her fluffy tree??? The tree stump is from Forest Whimsy as well as the Santa and "clouds". The sentiment and gifts are found on our Santa Paws stamp set.

ohhhhh, I really like this shade of plum!! What a darling little scene. ((((LOVE))))

I have a sneak peek for you...it's a "future" stamp set (wink)

Nope, I just couldn't fill this bakery sack...I am a terrible cook! I love my family too much to torture them with "enticing" treats, LOL So please imagine that there is the most delicious cupcake in this treat bag...ok?
I colored the twill with a yellow Copic marker to add color and dull it down.

And usually on Friday's, I like to point out some of the unique points of our stamp sets. I have just one for you today. I realize that what I design isn't always obvious right away, but I love to encourage others to see beyond what's in front of them and truly stretch your creativity.

Whip our those great letter stickers...use colored inks for the solid heart and color the eye with your Copics. These images really makes a super fun sentiment. You will need our Smoocheroos stamp set though (grin)

We are Christmas shopping this weekend...and decorating the tree and house - can't wait!! Hope to "see" you on Monday.

is a VERY versatile stamp set. There are eight obvious options, but they work together as well.

Heather's card is beyond adorable :) I love that she folded the leaves to add dimension. Great clean lines and perfect coloring really makes this card wonderful!

How stunning!! The twine was the perfect touch to this masculine CAS card. I think Laurie nailed it!!

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Card Creations: Get Inspired Blog Hop

I am so excited to be a part of this super fun blog hop today!

The editors found all sorts of wonderful inspiration pieces and we created cards based on them. I had a blast creating for that call!! I like dabbling in all styles, so inspiration pieces really help me to branch out. I love how easy the book is to follow...and it's filled with inspiring cards!

I was asked to find inspiration in my home and to create a project with it. I just love this bird accent piece...it just makes me happy. It sits on a cabinet in my craft space. Yes, the entire room is sunny yellow - I love it!!

Sooo, here's my inspiration:

and here's my card:

I was inspired in SO MANY ways:
1. The fun color combo
2. I added texture to the yellow paper to coincide with the texture in the wall. (I used an impression plate)
3. I love that bird! So I found a bird image in our "Wake Up" stamp set that matches it beautifully.
4. I chose a light colored brown for my card base because of the bin and cabinet colors.
5. I kept the style "fun and cute", just like the inspiration piece.
6. Since the bird's eye is a darker shade of blue, I added that shade to the buttons with Sky twine.
7. I chose to color my stamped image with Copic markers instead of paper piecing it.

It's amazing at how often Laurie and Heather use the same sentiment from a featured set...check these out!

Balloons

They bring a smile to my face :)
"Smoocheroos" has 3 balloons in the set - they spell out "I heart U", but you an use them in different ways (they are not attached to each other)

Kryssi used the balloons to give the fox a way to express herself...the "LOVE" word in the background is another NEW stamp. It's found on our "Word Salad" stamp set. Wicked CUTE card!!

Heidi decided to give her monkey a lift with the balloons. I love how she created the sky with our cloud stamps from "Sunny Side Up". Clean and oh so delish!!

Both SMOOCHEROOS and WORD SALAD stamp sets will release on Dec. 1st - can't wait for you to see the whole sets!!

This crazy crab is from our new Chubby Chum Pals stamp set....of course the coordinating sentiment is included too (grin)...and the disguise is an addition to the crab. I stamped it over his face and paper pieced the nose. The scalloped edge was doodled.

The eyes are spaced just right on the Chubby Chum Pals set, but there are other Paper Smooches images that they will work well for as well. The hats work great with many PS images!

I used a bird image form our NEW Chubby Chum Pals stamp set. The pilgrim hat and turkey feathers are from our "My Peeps" stamp set...and the sentiment is from Chit Chat. Chubby Chums has been one of our best sellers...so we thought it would be fun to offer even more "chums" to add to your collection...and the set comes with "extras" that work with all of the chums.

This silly monkey is found on our NEW Smoocheroo stamp set. His hand gesture says "I love you". I hung him from the sentiment from Hang Ups stamp set. This set is filled with "love" hinthint :)

I have some super cute cards to share with you...

Teri created this sweet little scene with our Wake Up stamp set. I am guessing this could be a baby announcement...maybe triplets? Or it's a Mom and Dad having a baby girl. I dunno for sure, but it sure is a fun card!

And here's another card using our Wake Up stamp set...the flowers are eggs!! Isn't Audrey so clever??? What a fun and HAPPY card!!

Check out this amazing four seasons card...eeeek, it's so cool! The tree is from our Promenade set and the sentiment is from Word Up

Sadly, this is the last week that Audrey is our guest designer (pout). She has been beyond wonderful to work with. It has been a real pleasure Audrey :)

I love seeing two completely different cards using the same exact sentiment!

OMG - I LOVE the background that Heather created with the solid star stamp. This is the perfect card that shows how our MY GUY stamp set can also be very "girly" (check that flirty ribbon). I think Heather rocks the color-on-color look - I LOVE it!!

Laurie created this very cool card using the football - wow...what fabulous masking!! I think the neutral colors look great! Really...this is pure eye candy to me :)

Our PS DT Blog Hop is scheduled for this Thursday. I hope that you will have a chance on your holiday to pop in to say "hello"

Today's card showcases our My Guy stamp set. Teri used it beautifully! I love those pennants!!! How cool that she let the hearts run off the edges - there are no rules when designing cards, always remember that. Just play and have fun like Teri does :)

Audrey is back with us today sharing 2 darling cards! Just look at all the stamps she packed onto this amazing card! I see stamps from Hope (sneaker), FOLKal Points (stitches), Hang Ups (star), and Sentiment Sampler (way to go)...all added to My Guy stamp set (solid star, football, baseball bat, baseball, you're an all star. seriously friends - WOW!

...and of course Audrey's second card is a stunner as well. I just adore this sweet scene (huge grin)

Of course I have another Forest Whimsy stamp set to give away today.

Forest Whimsy

I "transplanted" the tree stump and snail from my former "Summer Trees" stamp set and added a couple of whimsical flowers to fill the spaces. Each and every line was fine-tuned and they stamp beautifully!

Laurie and Heather created gorgeous cards using Promenade today

Laurie's card is divine! I love the rich colors, her design and that freaking gorgeous BOW!! The dots add such a pretty touch to the border :)

Ahhhh, how pretty and flirty is this??? Those glitter stripes are just dreamy! I am LOVING how she created movement by stamping off the ink...wow :)
