This is SO soft and simply sweet!  Kryssi's adorable card is perfect for baby, friends, anniversary or just about any occasion.

Tonight at midnight (12:01am to be exact) is the BIG release moment for our March stamp sets.

Don't forget to stop by all of the Paper Smooches design team blogs to see if you won one of the stamp sets that they were giving away on February 24th

Friday, February 25, 2011

is our middle name.

We like to think that our stamp sets can be used in many creative ways, making them timeless.  In time, when there are more than a few sets, you will find that they all work very well together since they all have that same fun and whimsical look.  Color them, paper piece them, mask and just stamp and walk away...we just want you to stamp, and smile.

This little pea pod is found in the March Vegtastic stamp set.  It can be used for baby cards (girls, boys or twins), everyday wishes and... why not a Christmas card too?  (the Santa hats are just triangles folded down)

We are happy to announce that we have lowered our International shipping rates!   We have mailed countless stamps to many different countries including Italy, Switzerland, Australia and South Korea.  After being in business for almost a month, we were able to see just how much postage is to International countries and it's simply not as much as we thought that it would be.  We did our research and chose our shipping rates based on what was an average low for the stamp industry, but feel that we can do better. (grin) We LOVE all of our customers and want to provide the best customer service we as of late last night, we lowered our International shipping rates to:

$3. flat rate - International First Class

$3. flat rate - International First Class (1-2 stamp sets)
$5. flat rate - International First Class (3 or more stamp sets)

Please pop over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog to see if you are their giveaway winner!

There is still time to win the March stamp release on all 5 Paper Smooches design team blogs, linked in the post below and on the right side bar. . . and at Moxie Fab World

Have you seen this special feature on the PS web site?

This is a fun way to boost creativity.every month.

3 color coordinated projects are created with each new stamp set... I took those colors and created a chart to share with you.

Here's how it works:
The four colors on the top left corner square are colors that I used on my sample cards found on the Birthday Buddies page.
The four colors on the top right corner square are colors that I used on my sample cards found on the Pretty Phrases page.
The four colors on the bottom left corner square are colors that I used on my sample cards found on the Falling For You page.
The four colors on the top right corner square are colors that I thought looked great together.

In addition to these 4 color combination's, you can use all rows as well.
The 4 colors that go from left to right and top to bottom coordinate beautifully.
New shades will be added every month on the first.

left to right:
rust, teal, black and lime
sage, kraft, sandy blue, white
mint, baby pink, red, fawn
teal, pink, lavender, grey

top to bottom:

rust, sage, mint, teal
teal, kraft, baby pink, pink
black, sandy blue, white
lime, white, fawn, grey

these aren't actual product colors, just words that I chose to describe them

Here's a card that I created with 3 different American Crafts embossing powders.  The color combo that I chose is from the top left corner

Here are three more "Pretty Phrases" cards that are simply fab-u-lous in three STYLES:

Classy AND Clean

Elegant AND Sophisticated

Fun AND Cute

These girls really know how to knock my socks off...are your socks still on?

Have a fabulous weekend  :)

Hope to see you on Monday

Designer Drafts

This is one of those "shut the door!!" type of projects, created by Heather
  • awesome color combo
  • perfect fussy cutting
  • sweet shape
  • delicious bow
  • wonderful texture
  • divine coloring

Designer Drafts is a term used for the sketches that are offered at the Paper Smooches web site for FREE.  The sketches are taken from the projects that are included along with each stamp set.  Please use them as jumping off points for your creativity.  New sketches will be added every month.

Paper Crafts magazine has a submissions call for their newest sketch idea book right now...see the details HERE.  Ohhh', how we would love for you to submit your "never before seen" Paper Smooches cards to their call.  We offer a publication incentive, didja know?  See the details HERE

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Hello friends!
On the second Thursday of every month 2 projects will be posted by 2 talented designers that are found on the web.  The patrol is sent out to find super-fabulous projects using our stamps and templates!  Facebook and personal blogs are our favorite places to look.

Carly Robertson
I gasped when I saw this card!  What's not to love?  That sweet chick, the rockin' color combo, all that wonnnnnnderful texture. SO swoon worthy!

Leigh O'Brien
Don't you just LOVE her design and cute added touches?  Leigh colors beautifully.  What she did what that heart is simply divine!

Soooo, post those Paper Smooches projects everywhere you can, for a chance to have your name and project displayed here.

An e-mail will be sent to designers prior to blog posting to ask for permission.

We decided to refrain from selling our stamps to retail stores at this time, but after serious consideration, we felt that it was alright to get our feet wet by selling our stamps to a few local scrapbook/stamping stores.  I talked with a store owner from Tuscon, Arizona today and we decided that it would be a fun opportunity for both of us to sell our stamps in their lovely Brick and Mortar store.  Teaching opportunities are a plus and we think that this will be a wonderful way to begin our journey.  We hope that you will understand that it's important for us to take baby steps while we grow our business.  At this time, the Paper Smooches web site will be the only online source for buying our stamps.  We truly hope to work with retail stores outside the Arizona area in the future, and we believe that this will help us manage our business at this time.  We will keep you posted every step of the way!

Falling For You

Could it be the rawness sweetness of this adorable card that draws me in?  Is it the texture, color and dimension?  I don't know, but I know that I "heart" it to pieces!

Today I'd like to fill you in on our GUEST DESIGNER process.

To qualify for a guest spot to use Paper Smooches stamps, you will need to create a project (of any kind) using the FREE digital stamp and sentiment that is posted here on the first Thursday of every month, or use any Paper Smooches stamps.  This is not a random winner contest . . .a guest designer will be chosen by creating a project that totally catches our eye!  This person may use a really cool color combo, have outstanding design skills, can color like no other or just make a card that makes up say "wow!"

You will have 2 weeks to show us what you've got!  (starts on the first Thursday of every month)  The guest will be announced on the third Thursday of every month.

The perks of being a guest designer:

* Your name will be added (and blog linked) in the side bar of this blog
* You will be sent 2 NEW stamp sets for the following month and be asked to create 2 projects using each of the 2 stamp sets.
* Your projects will proudly be displayed here on the first, second and third Thursday of the following month.
* A guest designer button that you can display on your blog if you like.

The guest designer search begins on March 3

We truly cannot wait to see what you create with Paper Smooches stamps!!

Shaped card templates...

My goodness, I just love making shaped cards and I am thrilled to share them with you!  Each month, I will introduce 2 new shapes.  I am going to try to give them multiple uses because experimenting us just plain fun!

I am still working out some little minor kinks on the web site, but soon, I am hoping that when you purchase them they will be available to download right away.  It seems like I need to click on "complete order" on my end to release it for download.  I want to make sure it's as easy as possible for everyone, so please know that I am still tweaking a little bit.  I am working with a designer to make some cut files for the shaped card templates...if that happens, I will be sure to let you know asap.

This cupcake template can be made into a cake, an ice cream cone, a mushroom maybe?  Can you think of anything else?  The sentiment is stamped from Birthday Buddies.  The cupcake cup was created with a Scor-Pal (and some patience)

This pumpkin is "supposed" to be an apple...but I couldn't resist trying to make the template into a pumpkin instead.  So simple, but it get's to the point!

What I love most about templates is that you can mass produce them, so they are perfect for invitations and gift sets.

You can find the February templates HERE

I plan to create each template release to coordinate with the same month's stamp release.  So please keep that in mind when you brainstorm ideas..

Paper Crafts connection is giving away 3 new Paper Smooches stamp sets today...check it out!

Thanks for stopping by (I truly appreciate it)

Paper Smooches Co-Hop

I thought it would be a treat for all of us to see Paper Smooches stamps in the hands of some of my favorite stampy friends.

Co-Hop: meaning a non-design team collaboration among friends.  You will see more of these in the future, so please be on the lookout.  There is still so much to share with you!

I would have loved to include at least 25 more designers, but I had to keep it small so that we didn't take up your entire day :)

Here is a list of who created using Paper Smooches Stamps today:

Please check each and every blog if you can.  I am sure the eye candy will be worth it.  Have fun hopping!
