Do you have hang ups?

I guess we all do to some extent, right?  We'd love for our "Hang Ups" to be yours in a couple of days.  These puppies will be available on Sunday, May 1st at 12:01 am mountain time.

This wicked versatile set comes with: 3 sentiments and 29 images - now that's a LOT of bang for your buck!

I have another little story for you . . .

So, there is an image on the set that have a few people scratching their head.  I have been asked more than once, in the sweetest way, what is that image in the bottom left corner of the set?  Teri used it yesterday on her blog hop card, and I used it here:

I am referring to the bird house, but others also see it as - bird feeder - bucket - flower pot.  Please use this image as you like cus there is no right and wrong way to use it :)

I used the clouds from Spiffy Scooters, "hi" from Perky Plants and the rest of the images are from Hang Ups

All images are colored with single Copic colors.  The line that hangs the bird house was drawn onto the card base with a black Sakura pen.

Enjoy your weekend

Perky Plants

yup, they will make you smile, no doubt about it :)

Teri stamped the same image, three times and colored them in the cutest girly colors!  Love the design and that fringed grass, yummy!  I know I am smiling

This set consists of 4 large flowers, 6 supporting images and 4 sentiments.

Today I get to showcase 2 more of Kasia;s beautiful creations.  She has been an absolute pleasure to work with.  Thank you so much for joining us this month cute girl!

I love her use of Baker's twine!!  What a sweet, sweet card!  I can see stuffing a gift card to a great restaurant or kitchen-y store in the pocket.  Perfect papers, totally cute!

Here she goes again with a freaking adorable card using the lovable monster!  I am grinning all over.  She curved the "congratulations" sentiment to fit inside that circle - I LOVE that!!!  Clever, clever girl!

Tomorrow is our Monthly Paper Smooches blog hop.  We hope you will join us.  As always, there are 5 stamps that will make their way into 5 lucky designers hands.  See you there :)

Chubby Chums

Let me tell you the story about chubby chums . . .

Each "chum" started out in a gum drop shape.  My first idea for a name was "Gumdrop Goofies" and although they all have a smile on their face, they didn't seem too goofy to me.  I thought they could all be friends, so I thought of the fun word "chums' - and as you can see below, they are chubby.  Well, I asked my team which name they preferred, they all chose Chubby Chums - so that name was officially chosen.  The story doesn't end there.

One of the girls pointed out a typo - Oh' my!  ok, but it's little, VERY little but it's a mistake no less.  Adding the copy right notice and set name is the last to be done to each stamp set before completion.  As you know, I was recently married and my life got a little more hectic with wedding preparations - soooo

the stamp set says in tiny letters - Vhummy Chums

ummmm, wow!  (smacking head)

I managed to hit the V instead of the C and went nuts with the m's for some reason!

On the back of each set is a clear sticker, stating the actual name of "Chubby Chums" but I can't see changing that little typo until I need to re-order another batch of stamps.

Just a sweet reminder that we are all human.

I have always adored owls, so of course I had to include one in this set!  Heather stacked him in a fun way.  Does it get much cuter than teal monochromatic owls?  She curved the sentiment to look like the owl is saying it.  "Let's Party" is an EAD Designs sticker. SUPER-cuteness!

I have been a sucker for pink lately, so this gorgeous card makes me smile.  Loving the rosy cheeks and her design is fabulous.  I am so impressed that she finished off the inside.  I am sure we all would love to receive this darling card.

I will be back tomorrow with some smiling plants

Thank you a ton for stopping by!

Pep Rally day 2

We are hoping that you had the most delightful Easter Sunday.

Please let me introduce you to the third stamp set called "Hang Ups"
This versatile set does SO MANY amazing things, no kidding friends.  The possibilities are truly endless.  Think of what fun things HANG :)

Heidi used the lantern image in her festive celebration scene.  The sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler and the flowers and branches are also from Hang Ups stamp set. Isn't this such a PRETTY card?  I am in amazement at how she created that breathtaking window.

Kryssi also used the lantern stamp (3 of the lights are popped up).  I imagine this could be a wonderful birthday celebration and they have an uninvited guest hanging around the party.  (he looks like he's having fun though)  Both the squirrel and sentiment are from the Hang Ups stamp set as well.  This card brings a super HUGE smile to my face!

Tomorrow I will share cards from Heather and Laurie using Chubby Chums.

what do you think so far?

In case you missed my Splitcoast challenge, here's peek number 1

This set is called "Chubby Chums" I am afraid that I can't give away too much but this little guy is joined by 4 other chubby chums.

The second set is called "Perky Plants".  This is a happy plant set that has quite a few other silly personalities

. . . and the third set?  Well, you are going to have to wait to hear about that one until Monday.  A girl has to keep some secrets, right?

Here's a fun FYI - EAD Designs (who makes our rub-ons and stickers) is offering FREE, US and International shipping on them now......wooohooooo. You can see them HERE. I designed a very versatile set for May, and I can't wait to show you!  (you will see them on May 1st) Remember that 10% of sales (from EAD/Paper Smooches rub-on and stickers) is donated to fight Beast Cancer.

One step closer

. . . to choosing the next guest designer!  You still have time ;)

Details here

Kasia created magic with the Boob Tubes set once again!  Cleverness peeks around the corner again with her cute electric chord seen behind the bottom TV (love that!)  . . . and that wall paper and room scene, ahhhhhhh.  Aren't her colors pretty???

It has been an absolute pleasure having you with us this month Kasia.  We adore you and your amazing talent!

ACK - I LOVE how Teri makes those sweet cheeks!!!

Polka dots, gingham and whimsy, OH my.  My gosh, this is an adorable card.

Enjoy your day!

Tune In . . .

This Friday is the start of May Pep Rally week........YAY!!

Isn't this a great "earthy" card?  So rich and delicious!!  Her bold white center is the perfect touch to this well designed card

Is it a radio?  Is it a TV?  Doesn't matter really, it's still a GREAT Dad's card!!  "Happy Birthday" is a Sentiment Sampler stamp and it goes so well with the "dad" sentiment on the Boob Tubes stamp set.  Super-retro-cool!

Have a fantastic day!!

We are thrilled that our sentiment sets are selling SO WELL (I LOVE drawing them).  I think we will introduce a new sentiment type of set every other month if we can.  How does that sound?  :)

Kryssi created this soft and pretty card using 3 Sentiment Sampler stamps and the apple from our Falling For You stamp set.  I adore those stripes.  This card would be great for a teacher too!

Heidi used the cloud from our cloud shaped card template (I am so excited about that).  Gotta love a card stock heavy card!  Don't you just want to devour this card?

You still have THREE days to get those guest designer entries in. I know that it might not be as much fun when there links and not thumbnail photos, but they will be back next month.  Remember that you can link up cards that you have already submitted to the February call.  Oh' how we wish we could have 10 guests each month!  The details are found HERE.

Have a fabulous week everyone :)

Friday, April 15, 2011

let's chat about the boobs

boob tubes, of course :)

There are some elements included in this set that may or may not be obvious, so I thought I'd point out some tips.

That rounded top is for antennas (but it's not needed of course)

The TV on the left could be a radio or washer/dryer, depending on your sentiment choice and how you decorate it.

The boomerang shape is so retro - create backgrounds with it, create a border strip or use it as a funky heart

the "twinkle" shape can be used to add to the retro feel.  It makes a TV screen look shiny if you use it there, but you can also use it for snowflakes!

The TV on the rights shows how you can create a face (I suppose it could be a robot head as well)

When I asked what your favorite PS stamp set was - BOOB TUBES came out on top!

I love that long clear stamps BEND!  I colored the TV with Copics.  Looking at this card now, I wish I colored the outlet chord at the end black:)

Enjoy your day and weekend friends

feeling icky?

. . . would these cards help to make you feel better???

Instantly, I think of chicken noodle soup (not sure if that was her intention when she chose here color combo, but that's what hit me first)

Secondly, this is so whimsical!!  that gingham, those loops..ahhhhh

Third - she combined 3 sentiments from the Sentiment Sampler set and totally made it work - WTG Teri!

and our guest Kasia joins us again today.

She was chosen as our guest because of her very clever monster card -

today, in pure Kasia fashion, she has created an outstanding (VERY CLEVER) card using the TV from Boob Tubes as a monitor and the antenna was used as a heart heat, can you get over how fun this card is?  To top it off, her design is fantastic!!

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us here and making Paper Smooches a part of your day

gettin' buggy!

Hey everyone!
If you missed it . . .

we are having a giveaway (through Wednesday) HERE

you can try out to be our May Guest designer HERE

Since I was away when the guest designer post went live, I wasn't too sure about how the Inlinkz deal worked, so I looked into it yesterday and bought a subscription.  Which means that next month and thereafter, you will see thumbnails instead of links.  I like images better, don't you?  Just sayin'

Pink lightening bugs??? get out!! (I heart them).  I am all about drawing inspiration from photos when creating layouts, so love Heather's color choices.  Clean, graphic and just plain cool page

Fun and cute meets classy and elegant!

I am devouring Laurie's card :)

doilies, crinkled ribbon and glitter - OH MY!!

Did you see those darling antennas???

Hope you all have a fab-ulous day!!

Monday, April 11, 2011

Hey everyone!

I am back :)  We had a wonderful honeymoon!  I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things (I missed you)

Let's continue on with the word "hey" k?  Both Kryssi and Heidi used this sentiment, so I am guessing it's kinda fun.

What's not to love about this super retro-funky card?  I adore her stamped background with different ink colors, her mat is delish!!  I could go on all day about how fun her TV is . . . sigh . . .it's just plain COOL!

Kryssi's card is masculine and it's also pretty too, love that!  I love what she did with that scalloped paper!!  I dig the woodsy-olde-time cute (why does it remind me of the station wagon we drove around in when I was a kid?  ahhh, good times)  she was able to give a retro image a fresh look and feel (great job)

I'd like to offer a giveaway today.

I will choose 6 people to win one of 6 Paper Smooches stamp sets

Leave a comment HERE for your chance to win Friendly Flowers, Boob Tubes or Giddy Bugs

Friday April 8

Ohhhh, how I wish I had time to create some cards before I left, but I just couldn't make it happen.  BUT, I do have a treat for you today.  I'd like to share some cards created by one of my dear friends Karolyn Loncon

Isn't this card too cute for words?  That little gopher busting out of the travel paper is just SO cool!!  She used a font that I created for ScrapNfonts and embellished her card perfectly

I just adore this little hanger.  A gingham bat, get out of town!!  Do you love this color combo as much as I do?  I think this card has it all, great use of white space, balance and it's fun to look at :)

Enjoy your weekend.  I will be back on Monday with a giveaway (wink)

Wednesday April 6

Today is the first day of our guest designer showcase, YAY!

Welcome Kasia Curry

We are proud to have Kasia joining us this month!!  Since she lives in Canada, her new April stamps are taking their sweet little time getting to her, boo.  She was so gracious to create 2 brand new cards using some of the Paper Smooches stamp sets that she had on hand.

Kasia used Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies (sentiments) and Falling For you (hearts) stamp sets.  I adore her postage stamps/patchwork design!!  Her fabulous color choices and that perfect white space really sets this card off.

k, this is GOR-GEOUS!!  How cool that she combined the larger and smaller flowers in the Freidnly Flowers stamp set!  The patterned paper she created is out of this world  :)

Great use of black, the scalloped edge adds a playful touch along with clear crystals.  GREAT card Kasia! I can't wait to see what you will create for next weeks post.

Teri's cards are always a treat, aren't they?  She used Boob Tubes, Sentiment Sampler (hey) and Falling For You (bat, heart, love) for her very clever card.

and to bring this card to ultimate cuteness. . .she added a quirkey sentiment to the inside (WAY cute!)

Thank you so much for joining us today

Tuesday April 5

Laurie creates such STUNNING cards.  The cursive "thansk" sentiment from Sentiment Sampler works beautifully with her sofisticated card.  What a beautiful creation.

holy cuteness!!
I am loving that kelly green textured mat!  Using a sentiment stamp for a background is just fabulous!  Heather's little kooky-monster stole my heart :)

Monday April 4

Greetings from beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  I am missing you all already :)

Let's jump into some crazy cuteness. . .don't you just LOVE how great red, yellow and kraft looks?  I am taking note of that coloe combo, for sure.  Those yellow polka dot clouds makes me happy and Kryssi's sweet girly butterfly is soooooo CUTE!!.

Here's another fabulous color combo!  I can see this card as a baby announcement.  (you could change out the pink ribbon for green and you would have an instant boy-ish baby card as well)  I can imagine that the bee is interested in that perfect flower pin accent.  Brilliant card Heidi!!

enjoy your day amigos
