our final peek

I am so excited for our release night...April stamps go live at midnight on Sat. March 31

Today's card features a "love" sentiment from the new "Simply Said" stamp set and Mr. & Mrs. is from Word Up sentiment set.  Shabby-Vintage is not a normal style for me, but I really do love making this style of card sometimes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget to check the design team's blogs tomorrow to see if you are one of the lucky winners.

"See" you on Monday :)

Pep Rally Day threeee

(sigh) it's Erica's last day as our guest...she will be missed.  I have really enjoyed her and her talent!

This is such a bright and cheery card!  I think its absolutely FABULOUS in every way :)

Erica colors beautifully - I LOVE her planet Earth - and I love even more that she added a tiny heart.  cute CUTE card!

Here's the last view of our amazing Smarty Pants card samples from our design team.  Did you happen to see Emily's video tutorial using this set?  You can see it HERE

SUPER cute card Miss Teri!

...and here is the first peek of our "Get Outta Town" stamp set.  It's full of traveling goodness!  Every image on this sweet card is from this set...including the sentiment of course :)  (actually, the swirl coming from the airplane is from our Sunny Side Up stamp set)

Tomorrow is our design team blog hop - hope to see you...

I am off to one of my "happy places" today - I need to get my hair done.  I hope you have fun doing whatever you have planned today.

Thank you for stopping by :)

Pep Rally day TWO

WOW - I had a great time in Massachusetts!!  We met so many wonderful new stores...we taught amazing students all about Paper Smooches...I was able to see my brother and family...and we hung out with the funnest stamp company owners and designers - I am so glad that we went :)

We are on the final days of showing off our March stamp release...and Zoo Crew is the second to the last in the line up.  Tomorrow is our final share of Metropolis before it's replaces with one of our newest sets.  We have literally flown through this release...(we start with a ton) - I have reordered more already (big grin)

Emily and Laurie chose to create with the same images...LOVE when that happens :)

Emily added her images on top of an inked space - very cool look!  That grey line really makes the images POP!

Laurie's chevron gator is absolutely darling :)  Great texture, fabulous design and I love how she used the jungle leaf as a subtle background behind the gator.

The second set that we are releasing on April 1st is called "Simply Said".  It's filled with many script/cursive sentiments.  I had a blast drawing each word...I hope you love them as much as I do.  Emily used our houndstooth background and Reflections stamp set.  Brilliant card!!

Laurie chose the same sentiment in such a different way.  Her card is soft and pretty while Emily's card is bold and brilliant...BOTH cards rock!

I missed you - thank you so much for popping in while I was away

Hellloooo Monday

We have a treat for you.  Today is the first day of our Pep Rally week - woo hooo!
We also have some March card samples to share as well.

Our DT blog hop is this Thursday.  I hope you will join us.

I agree - let's celebrate :)  This is one cooool card!

I always love how Heidi stamps in an ink color and uses the same marker color around it.  Fabulous look - GREAT card!

The first April set is has a "Mom" theme.  I don't want to give too much away just please stay tuned...

This card makes me gasp.  It's just SO freaking beautiful!!  Kryssi has a unique way with watercolor - totally swoon worthy.

Kryssi and Heidi share the same brain sometimes...great minds think alike by using 2 roses to accent their card.  Both are stamped and cut out...and used sooooo beautifully

That's all for now sweet friends...I hope to "see" you tomorrow.

What's Up?

this card...

I used our Timber background stamp.  The sentiment is from our Good Gab stamp set.

I thought it might be fun to create bags for kids to take to the zoo to feed the animals.  So I stamped and cut out some Zoo Crew animals to decorate this canvas bag.  The handles are pipe cleaners and the letter stickers are American Crafts.

Create something this weekend...k?

Kimberly entered more than one card that caught our eye, but I fell in love with this card:

What an incredibly beautiful card this is.  Did you notice that she stitched the sentiment?  Ummm, WOW!

We look forward to seeing what Kimberly will create with our April stamp sets.

Our May guest designer search will begin on April 5th.  I hope you will share your lovely creations with us again.

Doin' the ZOO

Isn't Teri's Zoo Crew card super adorable???  I love the use of trendy denim and bling!  These two look so happy, it makes me giddy :)

Erica is back as our guest today.  She created some darling "Metrepolis" cards for us.  I am thrilled to show them off  :)  It's wonderful that she used the balloons without the city shows how truly versatile that set is.

Check out this masculine card.  The car moves across the card - awesome!!

I hope you are having a fabulous day!

is what happened when I saw these "Metropolis" cards -

I assume that Emily used the "rock and roll" technique with her fireworks.  It looks like she inked them with yellow and tapped on an orangy-red colored ink to achieve this wonderful look.  She used the dude block to make a reflection of the  cityscape.  This card just makes me droooool.  Seriously WOW!!

The sail boat is from My Guy and the waves are from Surf and Turf stamp sets.

Laurie took an entirely different approach with the Metropolis stamp set.  She created a lovely outdoor scene.  Her card takes me back to my hometown where we would have a Balloon Fest that filled the sky with large hot air balloons.  Ahhhh, those were the days :)

And this is the inside of her fabulous window card.  Isn't her coloring amazing?

I hope these beauties inspire you to create today

good morning friends

Did anyone else have Spring Break with their kids?  I is back in session today.  In honor of "school days" check these out...

These two fabulous designers always seem to channel the same creativity when creating with our stamps.  It's always a treat to see what they come up with each month.

Fantastic color combo - I just adore that book worm peeking out from the stack of books!  Her coloring is awesome!!

Heidi's tag would be a perfect gift for anyone at any age.  Heidi and Kryssi both lined up the books beautifully.  I am impressed :)

Speaking of school...I will be teaching this Friday at a store in NH called Wholly Scrap!  I will also be teaching at a small retail show in Framingham MA.  I am very excited!  My husband will be filling in for me while I am gone.  You are in good hands...I am sure he will do a great job.

I have a winner to announce - This person won our Little Lady stamp set!

This is such a fabulous set! I especially love the leopard print and ice cream cone stamps. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I created a cheetah pattern with Little Lady and a Zebra pattern with Timber along with a Copic marker.

I have one "Little Lady" stamp set to give away to one lucky person!  You have until midnight on March 18th to leave a comment.  I will post the winner here on Monday, March19th.

A fun little hop!

I am excited to share a book with you that I think is fantastic!  My friend Kimber asked me to contribute a couple of cards to her NEW book and boy was I honored!

This is her book:

This is why it's so special:
Interestingly enough - you won't see sentiments.  These cards speak for themselves.  They have moving parts and ways to make you go "Aha"!  You will also find endless tutorials - she really does an amazing job!

This is one of my cards:

The bee pops out of the flower with a curly wire.  Kimber shows you how.

This very sweet girl is where you will hop to next: Summer Fullerton

...and this is where you can leave a comment to win a signed copy - woohooo!  You have until Monday morning to leave a comment.

Thanks so much for joining us today.  I hope you have fun!

Our April Guest design search begins...

You know the drill...

Guest Designers will receive 2 NEW stamp sets and 2 shaped card templates and will have their name and projects featured here on the PS blog for 3-4 weeks (depending on how many weeks there are in the month).

You will have approx. two weeks to show us your talent!  You can submit as many projects as you like and past submissions are welcome.  Guest designers are not chosen randomly.  We will be looking for designers who stand out in one (or more) of the following categories:

  • great use of color
  • outstanding design
  • mad coloring skills
  • fun paper piecing
  • pure cleverness
You will need to use a Paper Smooches stamp or any of our FREE digi stamps.  A new digi image and sentiment were added to the PS web site last night.  You can find it HERE.  Past digi images and sentiments were moved to a tab at the top of this blog.  You can submit to our call with "old and new" projects...and projects that you create for our SPARKS Challenge.

The deadline is Wednesday, March 21st.  Our April guest designer will be announced on Thursday, March 22nd.

Our new FREE digi is now available - I am a bit buried at the moment with product design, so I had to improvise.  I combined an image and sentiment from our Hang Ups stamp set for you to enjoy :)

I look forward to seeing your fabulous entries :)
I am thrilled that you are interested in being our guest

Here's to all of the

Smarty Pants out there!

Teri's card is just neat!  I love how she colored only what's in the speech bubbles.  That blue marker really sets them off!

Erica Messervy joins us as our distinguished March guest designer.  We are thrilled to have her join us!

Erica used SIX stamps from the set - WOW!  She created a wonderful balance...and did you notice that she popped up the pencil?  How wonderful that she used cork and matted her focal image on school paper (great card)

Yup, this is just plain CUTE!!  The added bling is the perfect touch!  I don't know how she lined up that crayon so perfectly....that would be barely impossible with a red rubber stamp.  Well done.

Enjoy your day :)

Zoo Crew

boy, has this been a very popular set!  I hope to see these little guys splattered over the net!

Laurie and Emily both created such sweet cards using the zebra...check it!

*love* this color combo!  Did you notice all of the fabulous texture going on?  She has a zebra embossing folder - be still my heart!  LOVE this card!!!

Emily paired her zebra with our Timber background stamp - brilliant!!  She also used our Alphadot set to create the sentiment that she was looking for.

ok friends....I am back to the drawing board - literally ha!

Hey there

It's Monday - woohooo, we have a fresh new week to play with ;)

I am drawing, so I need to make this a short post...

I find it amazing that two designers can think so closely along the same lines...check this out!

Kryssi's blue, white and teal card looks amazing all glittered and popped up!  (GREAT design)

...and Heidi's blue, white and teal card is a fabulous celebration card.  She also popped up the front set of buildings and has white windows.

Great minds think alike...this is certainly the case :)

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a nice day friends
