Dr Barry Marshall was convinced that H.pylori bacteria causes stomach ulcers, but no one believed him. Since it was illegal to test his theory on humans, he drank the bacteria himself, developed ulcers within days, treated them with antibiotics and went to win a Nobel prize.

Bees don’t buzz during an eclipse – Using tiny microphones suspended among flowers, researchers recorded the buzzing of bees during the 2017 North American eclipse. The bees were active and noisy right up to the last moments before totality. As totality hit, the bees all went silent in unison.

Hi friends
After this week, I am going to start posting here on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Savannah handles the challenges, so look for her posts regarding that. I will also post any time we have special announcements and blog hop days of course. There will be more content on those days, so you won't be missing anything :)

If the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs arrived just 30 seconds later, it would have landed in deep ocean water which would have absorbed much of the force of the impact. The resulting extinction would have been less severe, many dinosaur species would have survived, and humans would not exist.

I used the new Pumpkin & Ghost Dies on my cards

I used the new Buffalo Plaid Stencil along with a sentiment from the new Best Witches stamp set

Our dies easily cut fun foam and felt :)

I created a snowman with the Pumpkin Die. The pumpkin "eye" was used for the nose. I used our Stars Dies along with Fall Tree Dies for his arms. The snow drift was created with our Water Dies (cut from silver glitter paper) Sentiment from the new Face Off stamp set

I used the new Buffalo Check Stencil to create the fun border at the bottom. I taped off a section and used a finger dabber to ink up the stencil.

Thanks so very much for joining us.

The term “scientist” was coined in the 1830s to describe Mary Somerville. A woman. Because the usual term “man of science” didn’t apply and she wasn’t just a physicist, geologist, or chemist – she was all three.
