Piggly Wiggly was the first true self-service grocery store. Before their founding in September 6, 1916, grocery stores did not allow their customers to gather their own goods. Instead, a customer would give a list of items to a clerk, who would then go through the store, gathering them.

Older forms of English kept Latin’s gender specific suffixes -tor and -trix, -tor is for men and -trix is for women. So a male pilot is a aviator and a female pilot is a aviatrix. A male fighter is a gladiator and a female fighter is a gladiatrix.

1.13 Sunday Recap

Hello, PS fans and friends!

Savannah O'Gwynn here with a quick recap to remind you to join us for one of our EASIEST challenges ever! Our January 2019 challenge is ANYTHING GOES. Click HERE for more details.
I apologize for not posting last week/Sunday. Trav's dad passed away on January 4th after several years of battling multiple cancers and COPD. I created a simple sympathy card (inspired by a Pinterest layout) for today's challenge entry. I do not like making these cards, but I know they bring so much comfort to those who are grieving. **I made another sympathy card for Trav; Kim will post it on the blog soon. Paper Smooches stamps/dies that I used: Sympathy Sampler, Reflections.
I hope that you will join in the fun. You can click HERE for details or link up below:)

That's it for me today. THANKS for stopping by! More inspiration and fun from the PS DT will be posted this week so be sure to stop back by.

In 1992 Hong Kong, a Mercedes-Benz was stolen every 5 hours. The theft and exporting of luxurious cars to China got so bad that Toyota began advertising in Chinese newspapers; stating that Lexus cars would breakdown after 20,000 miles if Chinese standard Leaded fuel was used. Not one was stolen.
